I just made this. ABSOULTELY DELICIOUS!! I was VERY surprised at the flavor of this. So so good. I made half of the batch. I substituted cinnamon for cardmom and dash of corriander and added honey a bit since I didn't have the full amount of maple syrup. so I did 3/4 maple syrup and the rest honey. I am going to make the proper batch from now on and so happy to find a proper cookie that is DELICIOUS that is flour free!! Thank you .. forgot to add. i flattened the cookies so I can get more crunch. and baked them longer so they were more dark.. once they cool down, they become almost crunchy and they crumble in your mouth with so much flavor!! just amazing

I’ve never made this rice and didn’t know how to, thinking it would be complicated but you made it easy. Just one concern about the use of a tea towel; I smelled the washing powder off of the tea towel so I use a couple of layers of kitchen towel instead and I think it’s more hygienic. Thank you Tara!

I don't in any way mean to be rude or Sarcastic, however it's quite sad for all those non native-born Iranian/Persians to hear untrue statements, learning them wrong. Not to mention the innocent people in the West and all other nations that will never know the difference between authentic and/or factual names of things. I attended the finest high school in probably all of west/central Asia, at the time of the last king (Alborz high school), and there my major (yes we had 3 fields to choose), was Math/Physics. My father had a double degree in Farsi literature & ancient history. Later, he went back to college to study law, and then he served at such posts as the head of the Supreme Court, Minister of Dept. of Justice, etc!! My point being that, my father was always correcting our Farsi (language of Persians). Moreover, my sister had a PhD in linguistics and she was a polyglot (Farsi, English, French and German). The root of the French word "Gourmet" is "Ghormeh". Therefore, I'd like to respectfully point out that "Ghormeh" does not mean Stew. The Farsi for Stew, is "Aush" (thick soup)!! "Gourmet" according to Merriam-Webster dictionary means: "relating to, or being high quality, expensive, or specialty food typically requiring elaborate and expert preparation." No wonder you are right about it being loved by everyone! A Khoresh is no different than many Chinese dishes with a vegetable/meat + Sauce as a topping that many eat with rice!! My mother, who taught me cooking, was such an amazing cook, that she was asked to teach cooking on 2 National T.V. stations in the 1960's. Having traveled through, as well as having lived in areas adjacent to the Hyrcanian Rainforest of Mazandaron & Gilan all the way to Esfahan, Shiraz, Abadan etc., she had first hand exposure to many local foods. Her love of cooking gave her the gift of curiosity to searching out the local recipes from professional chefs. I've never seen Iranians pour "Aush" (Stew) on their rice!! My wife tells me her Scotch-Irish family never pours their Irish Stew over rice! Khoresh is not a stew. As I mentioned, Stew is "Aush" (a thick soup). Ghormeh Sabzi is a Khoresh, not a thick soup. Soup does not get poured over rice. A Khoresh is a Thick Chunky Topping with large chunks of meat and vegetables in a sauce. There is no exact English word to mean Khoresh. A Khoresh is a Khoresh no matter what language you speak. For instance, the botanical society of England could not assign a Taxonomically correct genus and species name for the herb "Rayhon", because it was native to, and only found in Iran. We really shouldn't change the facts. For example people from Persian ancestry are starting to Substitute Q for "Gh" (for the letter "Ghaf" in the Persian alphabet). May as well use a "K" and make it even more ridiculous!!! And, in relation to this video, we would have "Qormeh Sabzi" (Doesn't it sound like"Wormy Sabzi"? At least that's what my grandson just said to me.")😊 It has become the Fashion to misspelling the name of the beautiful historic city of Esfahan, erroneously, as "Isfahan"!! It really matters to be proud of one's ancestry. You can be a loyal American or European and still be proud of your heritage. My children born as Americans are very proud of their Persian ancestry, as well as their German/Scotch/Irish (my wife's) ancestry. Not to mention America's history, which is their native born country's history. I feel it's really important that Persian/Americans or Persian/Europeans should know some elementary history. For example: How many Persians in the west know that their ancestors were the first people on earth to come up with a currency such as coins? Only Lydians had something resembling currency before that, which were coils of silver in a specific diameter and length. Once, I very sadly listened to a Persian/American professor of history from one of the most prominent American universities, say "For Cyrus the Great they imported fruit and nut trees for his royal garden." ( He named his walled garden "Paradees" -in pronunciation- translates to "Paradise"). The comment from this distinguished professor made me sad because he had no clue that the Zagros Mountain Range had Native Peach, Apricot, Pear, Apple, Plum, Cherry, Quince, Persimmon, Pomegranate, Fig trees. Not to leave out many kinds of Grapes, Walnut, Hazelnut, Almond, of course, Pesteh (Pistachio), Long Acorn, various Mulberries including White Mulberries, Persian Lime, Leemoo Sheereen (an orange sized Citrus fruit that has no detectable acidity), Naranj (sounds like orange, right? It's not, but similar), the ancestors of all melons, Cucumbers, etc., etc., to name some. And many more fruits that don't even have Western names. None of the aforementioned fruits and nuts were ever imported into Iran, in their original strains that Cyrus The Great would have had in his garden. When I was between the age of one and three, my father was the Chief Prosecutor (District Attorney) for Esfahan. In Esfahan, I taught myself how to fish for Brown Trout (Salmo trutta) in Zayandehrude (it means The Life Giving River). My time there is why I have an interest in the beautiful city being properly spelled and spoken. Look on the U.N. map, and check the encyclopedia Britannica. Both show the proper spelling for Esfahan. But, contrary to what most people believe, Wikipedia is not a source of all scholarly information!! Soon the history and culture of Iran will be lost because of all these misspellings and trying to do an exact match in translating Farsi into English. Not to mention all the wrong pronunciations such as IRAN being pronounced as "Eye-Ran" instead of "Eee-Ron" which has the same meaning as IRELAND (Land of Aryans). And, being an Aryan has nothing to do with White Supremacy. Or, wrongly pronouncing IRANIAN as "Eee-Rainy-Yan" instead of "Eee-Ronny-Yan". I really do thank you for your video. It was done professionally.
