I've seen plenty of unit's act up over the years, it's no surprise my unit has an issue with the defrost control board as Goodman is known for that.

Definitely, weird thing is it hasn't done it since! that is typical of Goodman, they are known for bad/faulty defrost boards.

@@bradroesler7072 i have no idea. Haven't been there in years. That house is right outside my old neighborhood, I was helping the homeowner out by taking care of the yard. That was years ago.

That was definitely not normal. I think you’re right with the defrost board theory. I think the board could be bad and wasn’t sending proper voltage to the motor causing it to spin slower than usual, which is probably why it frosted up like that

I agree, and the other night with the screeching fan motor could have been a voltage issue from the board. time will tell what the problem is :)

Turns out it wasn't the cap - see my strangest defrost cycle ever video, it was presumably a voltage issue.

Run cap strikes again. Luckily it wasn't the condenser fan motor itself. The other Goodman wasn't as fortunate. Best of luck changing the blower, and happy thanksgiving!

speaking of condenser fan motors, both units new out of the box had to have outdoor motors which were defective! i'm glad my last new home and the upcoming one have split systems, they are easier to change a blower on vs tearing one of those Goodman's all the way down to pull the blower. @ I changed a condenser fan on an older r22 trane this summer, locked up completely. I haven’t worked on a packaged unit yet, but I’m sure I will soon!!

i will disagree :) the ocracoke is nearly 24 years old and still works perfectly, the carriage house is nearing 19 years old and still works despite the scraping noise.

ok yeah purple and pink one side, brown to the other. Since it was one wire on one side I unhooked that one first and clipped it onto the new capacitor... Unhooked the other two and left them dangling, installed the new capacitor, hooked up the last two to the other side. This only works on the Goodman with a NON-polarized capacitor, otherwise make sure you know + / - which side. This video was very helpful.

My heat got turned on yesterday morning as it was 62 degrees in my house and then just a little over two hours ago my auto changeover thermostat switched back too ac as it got too 79 in here (air is set too 76 but my auto changeover thermostat works werid(if you want too hear how it works I can send you an email about it))

they are not spinning in reverse, it is the frame rate of the camera making them look like they are.

Just had a new package unit installed on my house. It’s a negative pressure unit as well. I used your video and built a P trap just like yours. Originally it would only drain when the unit shut off. Now with the home made trap, it drains like it should while running.

Thanks! This was a great help. I have the YTH24V54. The Husqvarna manual doesn't mention the freaking belt keeper. I had a time trying and failing to get the old messed up belt off. Then I saw how easy it was to loosen or take off the belt keeper. That was the part I had problems with. After that removing and adding the new belt wasn't so bad, a little tricky, but I did it without removing the mower deck, so saved a ton of labor!

Right, my assumption is, the electric furnace cannot support a heat pump, so whoever added the Carrier to it wired it as straight cool, the Carrier will go with the new owner of the home who i sold it to, the mobile home is getting hauled out and a brand new manufactured home (MH) put in it's place, a 6 month-1 year process as new, custom ordered MH's take along time to build, plus factor in the permits, inspections etc...
