Elite Play Hours Mean Nothing When You Can Literally Just Leave Your Game Logged In And Sit In a Station Doing Nothing...

Currently moving upward of 17,000 hours across 8 accounts.

5500 hours here, with some breaks from the game. But maybe quarter of it is me sitting in my docked ship, drinking beer, smoking pot and watching something on my other monitor. 🙂

I don't really like multiplayer online games, nor games that don't have a main quest storyline with a clear ending, and are just endless sandboxes with no particular goal. I might play a game like Stardew Valley or Cities Skylines for, like, 10-20 hours and then get bored and move to something else. And as for "arena" style online multiplayer shooter games, they most definitely are not for me. A very, very long time ago I tried some for a few hours and got completely bored. Nowadays I get bored of them in 5 minutes (and I'm not even exaggerating one iota). I once tried and MMORPG for a little while, maybe an hour or two, before I got bored. About two years ago I tried Elite Dangerous just out of curiosity, expecting to get bored of it after maybe an hour or two as well. Yet, I'm still actively playing it to this day. I believe my total hours are now approaching 2000, which is like an order of magnitude more than the second-longest I have ever played a video game. I cannot really explain why, as I don't really understand it myself. They say that Elite is "as wide as an ocean, but as deep as a puddle", and indeed, compared to all those "endless" games like Stardew Valley or the MMORPGs, it has quite a distinct lack of storyline content and elaborate quests. Yet, somehow, I stopped playing those after 10-20 hours, yet I'm still playing Elite actively to this day, after something like 2000 hours. I couldn't explain to you why. It just... somehow works.

Fun fact about Elite for me right, I casually brought up to my dad the fact that my step dad bought the game and said I could play it (Xbox). My dad was thrilled and informed me that the space game he made me try once a few years before (2015) was that same game and I should definitely play it. He has the founders pass, etc. and we've been playing together on PC for years at this point xD

Nice! I've been having a hell of a lot of fun using my small MK4 Viper, stealth build. It idles at about 15 -16°. It takes forever to get down to 15, while idle. I found that doing thermal spread on my thrusters is the same idle temperature as without, so I just decided to throw drag drives on to attain that little bit more of maneuverability and speed.

Is that a Kevin Banana reference? :P

People that complain about combat logging are extremely annoying and silly. Sorry that some players don’t want to deal with your invincible Uber-FSD-mega r4pe anti player ship whose only purpose is to kill players when they are trying to enjoy the game the way they want while also playing with others. You see, PvP is not balanced in this game. A player who has not committed his entire game to PvP doesn’t stand a chance against these ships, and would rather just turn the game off than have to deal with you while you also go on KZbin and whine about how he didn’t just sit there and let your invincible ship kill him. It’s so strange that people like you occupy a fairly large portion of this community, where in any other game you would be laughed at by everyone.

Both of you are very below average pilots in PVP, but the Musky plays better than you, that's a fact 😂
