The movie 'Van Wilder' was based on him after he did a Rolling Stone interview about his time in college. Some of his classmates confirmed that the mafia story is true. He originally told this story on a podcast and was encouraged to tell it on stage.

Theres actually pictures on the internet of him with the gangsters

So, other than some of the conversations, it's all been pretty much confirmed as all true. Including photographic evidence, teacher and classmate testimony. There's pictures of him partying with the police, on the stolen boat, etc etc. And, he indeed was wearing a fanny pack, you can see it in some of the pictures.

This is 100% true. There’s pictures somewhere roaming about the internet of him with the badge off the conductors uniform. Bert is the real deal. If you’re in rolling stone for being the biggest partner IN THE 90s, you’re legit.

@@TeacherEddieHistory Hey, you know what they say about older Cars. They don't make them like they used to. XD Your positivity is honestly infectious and has helped get me through some hard times. I hope you never lose it and thanks for all the fun content. You and many other KZbin reactor and artist, really kept me going when my health was at it's worst. To the point that now that I'm healthy mentally again, my creativity and subconscious knowledge that my brain had been hiding, has finally come unlocked. I know it's a weird comparison but it sometime feel like I have a dolphin or bird brain, purposefully putting parts to sleep, while my body works on auto-pilot. XD Now it almost feels like I'm driving a new car but know all the controls by pure memory but just have to build the muscles back up. You even inspired me to look into my family history. My mother says we are actually distantly related to Anne Boleyn and I think between the history, poetry, the social-economical status of England, and human psychology... I think I have a Historical Hypothesis on the secret "Who, What, When, and Why?" Once I am healthier and possible able to set up a camera, I'd love the idea of doing a video with you and some other KZbinrs, to hopefully have a friendly debate about the subject. Though if I can get a DNA test to confirm, I would more than be happy to show the results. Even though her story is sad, I find it kinda fun to try and guess what happened, finding subtle hints in what the truth really is. My biggest hint was her letter. One line in particular really sticks in my heart, making me believe she truly was innocent in the end. The line is "Try me, Good King"... Why would she say that if she truly hated him. I definitely would want to find someone who knows all the base world history, myth and lore, I think I'm onto something that may link a lot of history we thought was just myth or legend. But I believe these myth and legends are just the 'cautionary tales" or Fairytales of their time. If you really want me to blow your minds, throw in a scientist who has studied the social and physical evolution and a chemist. I'm not joking when I said my brain literally 'woke up" XD

The theory of “im the man” actually makes the most sense as to why they would have initially laughed him off and brought him in.

I believe him. I had a similar experience. We would do a world trip but i would be 14 earlier in Moscow than my friends. I knew a Russian girl and i asked her what i could do during this time. She just wrote a letter and on a piece of paper she wrote instructions for the taxi driver. I gave it to the taxi driver and he drove me to this fancy hotel. I entered and someone came to me to usher me out. I gave him the letter, he read it and went pale. Next thing i know is I'm standing in front of the reception desk and the receptionist is excusing himself because the presedential suit isn't available. He was so nice as to offer me another. When i went downstairs i got a bodyguard in Armenia suit build like a tree and my personal limousine with chauffeur. Going to a store ment everybody trown out and everything for free. Going to a club equaled vip section and when there was a raid by the police an excuse from the mayor for the discomfort. 6 months later when back in Brussels i went to see the girl and asked her what was in the letter. Her response was:" only that you are my fiancee"

Great theory on the name origins, nobody else has broken down the language in such a way for this story.
@mikegoodwin23865 ай бұрын
I saw another Russian reactor explain it very similarly. The part about "I'm the man" sounding like "I'm the machine." And I don't know if it was the same guy who said this, but I've also heard that machine can mean car. That's used in English sometimes as well. Probably more common in the seventies than today, but someone might ask "That your machine?" meaning "Is that your car?"

When they were robbing the train they would reach in grab a bag go through it and take what they wanted. Bert’s dad gave him a knife as an item to assign memories with. This was the same summer he backpacked through Europe. The mafia stole his knife

Yes, it is my understanding that about 50% Russian men are called Igor and the other 50*% are called Vladimir. Greetings from Finland. As a side note, even though we are now part of NATO, we have never and we will never want to attack Russia, so stay calm and breathe. We just needed extra help because of the current president of Russia and his unhinged politics. When Kekkonen bathed in the sauna (banja) with Soviet leaders, vodka included, we knew everything was a-okay and NATO was not needed. In case you have not noticed, our country is not very big and if Russia was to attack us, it would not be a nice time for us. With USA and most of Europe backing us, we hope that is enough of a reason for the Russian leadership to not to attack us and thus peace is preserved. BTW, I liked the video and subbed to the channel.
