Hi , what if the cast iron ware is Enamelled finish inside? Would it still work ? I don’t think it would. Thanks
@veggiesandmore
@veggiesandmore Ай бұрын
The studies that looked into it used non-enamelled cast iron. I would expect the extra layer of enamel to prevent the iron from the pan from leeching into the food.

❤Thank you for this very informative video that I immediately shared with my two daughters for their children. I have been a vegan for 37 years and have been living on a Raw Vegan diet for most of that time. I certainly started with a cooked vegan diet that was about 50% raw. Your approach is very doable for busy moms.😊 I really appreciate you sharing very practical ideas about how to feed young children a vegan diet complete with how to incorporate the omega rich plant foods. I also appreciate how you share the breakdown of how you are meeting a young child nutritional needs. 😊 You’re doing a great job. 😊 Keep up the awesome videos! 😊❤

Thanks for this video! I am a low supplier and we are supplementing with another person's breast milk. Do you have any tips on how to increast breastmilk for women who do not eat red meat? I heard that increasing water intake helps, there are also medication you can take to help lactation, did you also try vitamins like iron to replace the red meat intake ? I would consult a doctor or just ask a pharmacist. I'm due in September and everyone in my family are low suppliers, so I'm super nervous about this hope this helps you though

@@veggiesandmorethe first time i saw the recipe was years ago at Detoxinista blog i believe. Since then i’ve seen it many places, and now with the purple ube sweet potatoe popularity its another gorgeous color! I sub dates and carob powder instead of maple syrup. Some great plant based children’s cookbooks out their now too! I hope you do more recipe videos! Isa Chandra Moskowitz has some great cookies and desserts books, that’s where i first tried the mash banana cookie and my fav choco chip rosemary cookie.Erin McKenna’s babycakes vegan cookbook has some fun recipes that use agave, but not sugar free exactly.

You got me with the take out, im guilty, Can a smoothie be considered a meal?
@veggiesandmore
@veggiesandmore 10 ай бұрын
It could. As long as you make sure it contains both fruits and/or vegetables, a grain, as well as a large enough source of plant-based protein. It basically needs to be filling as a meal. :)

What if your toddler only want snack foods
@veggiesandmore
@veggiesandmore 10 ай бұрын
That's a tough one! Toddlers usually prefer "snack" foods compared to foods you'd typically find in a meal. I believe exposure is key. The more often you offer them a food, the more likely they are to accept it eventually. Remember, the ":what" falls under your responsibility, no matter how much your toddler would like to take that responsibility on! So I'd suggest trying to come up with interesting ways to offer "non-snacky" foods more consistently, so that he/she gets exposed to them more often :)

Yes but we need to maintain a calcium -magnesium balance .Taking a calcium supplements can block absorption of magnesium where as eating collards etc provides cal-mag in the correct balance and also provides vitamin K which si also necessary for calcium absorption

If you check the ingredients, that milk you used is bulked up with a lot of unhealthy oil.

@veggiesandmore
@veggiesandmore 10 ай бұрын
Indeed, most oat milks contain some oil (it's added to improve the mouthfeel of the oatmilk, which is naturally very low in fat). However, this amount is minimal, and far from what I'd describe as "bulked with" or "a lot". While you can definitely make your own plant milks, I prefer using calcium-enriched store-bought versions as I find these very helpful in reaching my daily calcium requirements. It can actually be quite difficult to meet calcium recommendations from plant foods alone, so these calcium-fortified products can really help with this. If you'd prefer avoiding the tiny amount of oil added to some of the store-bought plant milks, you can always opt for one that doesn't contain any added oils! If you prefer making your own, I'd recommend making sure that the other food choices you make throughout the day do help you meet your daily calcium requirements.

I hate myself for saying this but the photo you have of your 2 year old's meal includes toast and mentions pancakes. In the USA, wheat grown is all GMO unless listed on the label. GMO means RoundUp Ready/glyphosate grains sprayed which you have to know the dangers. Take Care

My biggest concern raising to vegan girls since birth and they are currently 5 and 7 is this idea of igf1 insufficiency and the need for dairy . Dr Gregor said the body makes all it needs and requires no exogenous igf1 however their seems to be a debate on this complicated topic and it to me is very concerning. My kids are above average in size but I’m still concerned about this issue because it may be far reaching in areas other than height . Thank you and any info on this is much appreciated

The majority of ancestral groups have not eaten dairy outside of breast milk for thousands of years. Some Africans, Europeans, and Middle Easterners can tolerate dairy but the vast majority of people have a form of lactose intolerance. That’s proof in and of itself we don’t need it. Look at Polynesians or other Asian groups, they don’t consume any dairy products traditionally.

Could you please talk about introducing allergens to vegan/ vegetarian babies? There’s evidence that early introduction of allergens helps reduce the risk of developing allergies. I’m concerned that my child won’t be exposed to shellfish/ egg as we don’t eat those. What do you think?

Btw. Phytates bind calcium and Oxalic acid hinders its absorbtion. That also important when looking at vegetables :) Did you know that calcium is essential for living and constant in your blood, in order to measure ones deficiency you have to do a bone density test, because when on low levels the body takes it out of your bones and teeth in order to have enough to work with elsewhere in your body :0
