I have a red wings boots, the boots are aluminum toe and waterproof leather. Everything was fine until I clean them with mink oil and while I was cutting grass water started to go inside the boot and have a wet feet. My previous boots were red wings king toe and also got damage the same way… the leather cracked right about where the sole and the upper joint.

I've been wearing crafter for a few years now, it's my go to boot every time, have the composite toe insulated for winter and no insulated for summer. No need to break in the boots, straight to feet and they are comfortable right away, durable, and a great looking boot as well. I prefer these over any redwing to be honest.

Ive just replace my boa m4 as it failed after about a month of use, on opening it was missing the little metal fixing inside the mechanism, took photos and ordered the replacement kit which came free of charge in a few days. Love the look of them Redwings.

Anyone try these as well as an American Legacy boot? I’m a heavy line mechanic and fabricator. I’m afraid the softer soles won’t hold up to welding and all the slag.

I love my thorogoods but I think the timberland pro helix is the most comfortable boot I ever owned and they lasted years at my manufacturing job before giving them to my brother for his factory job.. got a pair of red wing Irish setters after getting a boot voucher from a landscaping job , Reebok steel toe shoes and thorogood boots gifted from a friend who bought the wrong size. All solid choices but I wear the thorogoods now… mostly because they are thorogoods they last and all my blue collar brethren give me compliments on my nice work boots… I was and clean every two weeks

Got my pair a month ago off of Amazon on a limited deal for $40 and very happy with this boot so far but did add a Dr Scholl's work insole for added comfort while tightening up the fit inside the boot.

These boots are great! Have lasted me 4 years. Getting ready to buy some more because they're finally completely worn out. I highly recommend these if you're looking for long lasting value. Only downside, as with any well-made boots, there is a break in period. Takes about 2-3 brutal weeks of breaking in then you're good to go. I personally always buy insoles as well for work and get them along with the new boots to break them in at the same time.

Started my first ever job that requires work boots (surveying and topographic mapping) and I had no idea what boots to get. Thank god the guy at the workwear/safety equipment store brought these puppies out when I asked for recommendations. So comfortable, and since I have long narrow feet many boots simply don’t fit me properly and my ankles are knocking around the top. These Turbos fit me like a glove, snug in all the right places. If you’re like me and have narrower feet GET THESE BOOTS!

U should look into a LAPG Tactical pants which has much more type and tons of colors with knee pockets. Oh yeah much much cheaper than this over price 5.11. U will love it more even got lower leg pockets 2. Go look into it because lots of people give high reviews.

Im almost 100% sure this is all snake oil salesman trying to change things for the worse so you buy their sht. I had 1 pair of boots last ELEVEN, YEARS. As a turkey farmer btw which means ammonia and harsh chemicals walking through shavings like sand EVERY DAY leather getting pinched in heavy machinery i mink oiled the hell out of them right when i bought them and again at the 6 or 7 year mark when some surface scrapes or flaps of leather from cuts was exposing the inner leather and they would have lasted longer too except when i was doing construction a nail or something actually broke a hole in the side where the toe bends on the weakest part anyway. I still wear them for working at home all the time. I only say idk 100% that mink oil wont somehow just bc im not egotistical and a leather worker. But as extensively as a boot could be tested some $200 red wings or $180 or whatever and a can of mink oil has lasted me over a decade of my life. In extreme cold, extreme heat, brush, fire, thorns, wood work, construction, concrete sludge, turkey houses, cattle farming whatever. This kindof capitalism is bad for the consumer and it is misinformation and it should be 100% illegal to say this even if your product does "work" even if it somehow marginally works "better". To say something else doesnt work or will destroy leather with no evidence while probably charging twice as much for your product....? Is wrong and immoral. And the guy who told me to use it in the first place was a 55 y/o mechanic i worked with daily and his dad used it to. Not bc they said it worked, but bc it did. For 55 years of his life. Otherwise any other leather boots ive had has lasted 2 or 3 maybe 4 years before the sides blowing out, and im hard on shoes i have wide flat feet and any job i have involves walking hard miles every day.

Thank you for the thoughtful and honest evaluation. I think you have it spot on, these are fashion boots, not work boots. Not afraid to admit that I would love to wear them. I really want a pair of tall "Hunter refined boots" in shiny black or red. I have thin legs as well, and will wear them over my jeans. I never understood how that strap could actually work, there is not split in the shaft! I wish Hunter still made those waders and high heel boots.

I bought these in an 8 inche. A few weeks before the first big snow fall last year. I'm a Fedex driver, and I walk over 5 miles a day. Anyway after the first snow fall 6". I wore them for that day, and most of the day they were okay. I slipped a few times but not bad. But with thirty deliveries left I slipped down a hill and caught my foot under me and SNAPPED my fibula and my foot was facing the wrong direction. I'm still out of work 8 months later and probably won't walk normal again. I know these boots were a contributing factor to my injury. I was cheap and bought these and it changed my life for the negative. Just be careful!

"bad feet" lol ouch. appreciate the review for this specialty footwear. I have 5" wide feet without being specifically swollen, 11.5 XX. Could anyone comment on the stiffness of the boot? I looking for ankle support, sturdy like an actual hiking boot (which is one aspect of the marketing for this boot)

Bought a pair of these just before a recent deployment as a back up boot for my Arcadias, but have to say I wore these the most, made in Vietnam but like you said wears like a fell running shoe, and also stylish with dark jeans and I can even ride my motorcycle with them, changing gear isn't a problem

The Scarpa Mojitos are really good light trail, hike and walk with the dog shoes. I even use them for Mountainbiking or light climbing. The new Mojito Trail GTX is quite waterproof, sturdier but also heavier than the standard Mojito.
