Always thought part IV was good to watch for fun, but definitely not my favorite in the series. Hard for a main villain of a story to take over the world, when he can just simply be defeated once the sun goes down.

Core memory - even at 8 years old when this first came out, I asked my Dad when Superman got "Great Wall of China repair vision" and how it worked, and why he didn't use it whenever a building in Metropolis was damaged. Never got a satisfactory answer. He took that answer to his grave I suspect.

The movie could have been a lot shorter if Superman had just done a backflip, snapped the bad guy's neck, and saved the day.

I once watched a black and white live version of Superman teach Lois and Jimmy how to turn their body to a stone like stare so they could like climb up a well while keeping their bodies horizontal so they could reach the walls and climb up or something. I can't remember but it was so surreal the way they played it straight like gullible kids would eat it up, which I guess they did.
