I've been following this channel for about a year or so now, but it was nice to see the student smiling and really enjoying the process of learning under Coach Alexey!

Did anybody else notice the ghost in the background? The punching bag started moving by itself.

Great video as usual coach! Please keep delivering such great content! This is an much overlooked aspect of counterattact/defense. Backpedaling not means necessary a self defeating behavior, this video shows us backpedaling is only another way to counterattack if you know how do it right. Pure gold coach! 💪

Great video as always coach Frolov ❤ Sophie will be an Olympic champion 💯 I recently saw some old Soviet boxing videos of the Olympic team. They were doing drills including the maneuver you're teaching at the beginning of the video, also there were drills with a side variation of the same maneuver. After the step with the front leg + the jab instead of going backwards with the right hand they went on a side step + right hand. Also I saw similar side variations with a long right hook and a long uppercut. Could you make us a video covering the Soviet side steps? The Soviet side steps were very unique

Can someone explain why in this instance you are allowed to bring your feet together which is breaking the typical rule of moving backwards maintaining base and not bringing your feet together

The idea is to buy yourself the distance back, while also being able to throw solid 2, here you preform this fast, hoping that no punches will land while you are off stance. When i was teached this we moved right leg back with a jab, and bring front foot back with a cross - that way you "remain in the stance", but coordination is difficult, and power in the right hand is meh also - especially if you end up in too wide of a stance, underrotating the cross, or stay heavy on the front leg after. In that "correct" form of 12 backwards you also go off stance except you widen it, which is arguably less risky.. During some manovuers like cross stepping you go off stance for a moment too, its a risk factor with a reward being advantageous position. There are some differences from how a 70yo russian trainer will teach, and how common modern boxing looks like in the west.
