Sharing video of himself cycling through a red light. Ridiculous.

The most notable thing for me here is that the driver did not even stop to look properly before entering the island, despite knowing that she could not see properly.. It's time we redesigned roundabouts like this one for safety, not throughput, with right angle approaches not tangential - the latter encourages such behaviour.

Before retiring from work I used to listen to Jeremy most days on Radio 2, but got annoyed with him promoting conflict between his guests. I've never searched for Jeremy's posts, but have seen too much of him on your brilliant channel! I am just cycling now rather than driving, following an eye condition, and would just call out "red light!" in Mikey's situations.
@crazyflod15 сағат бұрын
Jeremy vine made a event out of what could of been an non-event And Mikey could of shouted red light to make the other cyclists aware instead of shouting abuse

Mikey sounds playful. He didn't back off, he just didn't respond aggressively. Is "asshole" a swear word?

Funny watching Jeremy when someone literally pulled out RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME today and I didn't even make a big deal out of it LMAO (I wasn't going fast at the time, was annoying but yeah, just let things go sometimes). He had centuries to react, there was literally no danger in that situation.

I'm a IAM driver with over a million miles of accident free driving and I have to say I'm no fan of Cycling Mikey. To me he's a self styled vigilante just creating content just like most of the auditors do. Tim from Birmingham is far better. IMO the Met should tell Mikey to stop sending in banal footage of Gandalf Corner and rows of mobile phone users in standing traffic as this is clogging the system from more serious bad driving which needs more attention where as Mikey is just attention seeking!

The words non event have completely changed my driving, this is a perfect example of how i used to be when driving. There's a lot of bad and dangerous driving, but it's not worth making it worse just to make them aware

As a cyclist in London for 12 years, I am forever surprised by how many incidents Vine and Mikey record. I wouldn't classify myself as a slow or nervous cyclist, I ride at speed. If a vehicle pulls out in front of me, I slow down/stop, and then just move on. Likewise with pedestrians, etc. If someone jumps a red light, or another violation, it's not my place to reprimand them, and I just move on. I find by decreasing my stress and tension when cycling, I am generally safer.

Common theme with Vine video's is that he ALWAYS continues moving forward, putting himself in more danger. The man is a buffoon. Regarding Mikey's video, the paradox is that whenever people criticise "cyclists" it's pointed out that a lot of cyclists also drive cars too. I'd bet that removing every "bad cyclist" from the road would be hugely beneficial because they'd be the same people who're ar*eholes when they're driving their cars.

Use of a horn in a built-up area after lighting up time? An offence in a car. Arse Grape Vine should have flashed his lights, if that feature is available to him.

Vine is going to get himself killed or seriously injured one day. All in the name of content. I almost understand it from someone making a living from it on KZbin but he's got a successful career. Prize prat.

Vine and Mikey, the 2 idiots I loathe more than anything else on the internet. That really is saying something, I just can't figure out which one annoys me the most. The worst part is mikey's fans though, the kind of idiocy required to defend and encourage his actions like they do is just barmy to me.

Its always going to be the lorry drivers fault. Its embarrassing, Hes dressed in black merging from beside a stationary bus and made that situation worse. Also noticed its a Hovis lorry these guys are highly trained and are very familiar driving in busy city centres.

The overtake was fine. There was more than the recommended 2 centimetres of gap between the cyclist and the lorry. Plus, the cyclist should have kept left of the yellow line and stayed inside the cycle lane.

@nickrobinson19542 күн бұрын
What a great shame that people with celebrity status don’t use that to promote proper, safe, considerate cycling. It’s a missed opportunity. No wonder that some motorists get triggered by the poor cycling behaviour of some cyclists. Another great analysis Ashley, many thanks.

Most cyclists are not doing it purposely.. many feel intimidated and don't remain in primary or want to be helpful to let cars past by tucking in when they shouldn't. Primary is generally safest in slow moving, junctions or busy areas with parked cars.. but it takes confidence to stand up to the impatient driver (most are not but a significant minority are) Many motorists don't understand why I'm not tucking in nearer the parked cars to let them pass... I've been doored once so I'll never tuck in, in that situation. P.s. only cars are entrapping themselves if they are not leaving 1.5 meters.
