WHICH *surprise* - Pain arc mirror Haku arc and is trying to project on Hyuuga(and viewers) same emotions Naruto was getting absolutely slapped by fact Sasuke cared, thinking he could have been gone - repeated with Hinata. I can't lie, NaruHina was forced and I hate that there wasn't a chemistry build up that would make the pairing make sense, it's almost like it was thrown together last minute or like Naruto just settled for Hinata in a sense. On the other hand, even though I really wanted him and sakura together, they had better chemistry and it would just make more sense, but after how she treated him as kids or how she continuously disregard his feelings for her or that Bullshxt "confession" she pulled which naruto thankful saw through, it really made it so much more harder for me to see naruto continue pursuing her.

I know I'm a year late to the party, but as someone whose older sister wrote a SasuSaku fanfic that went viral, this video is incredibly cathartic to me. Not only does it vindicate my NaruSaku shipping from my teen years, but it also helps me put into words why I could never get on board with SasuSaku. I can also see the ways that my sister was projecting onto Sakura, like you admitted to doing as a teenager, and why she mistook "fixing" a broken man for an actual, loving, healthy dynamic. Also hearing about how badly Sakura is being treated in Boruto when Naruto or Lee would have treated her like a queen, also just feels like a massive "I told you so" moment. 😆

On a side note, just wanted to point out that I do think when you bring up her getting together with Kakashi in particular, that seems pretty inappropriate considering Kakashi is like 31 at the end of shippuden and she’s like what 17? Age gaps are one thing but with her being a minor while’s like 31 and in mentorship role to team 7, there would be concerns for grooming (although this is irrelevant in reality as Kakashi would literally never do that)

I’m not really huge on shipping (frankly idk why this was recommended) but here’s my two cents. Naruto and Ino. Hear me out. For one it would be a cute little rivalry couple, if Sasuke and Sakura was better written. Imagine that Ino and Sakura bickering over whose the better wife/has the better husband, Naruto and Sasuke sighing in the corner but then bickering as well over who has the better wife before everyone just laughs. I feel like Ino could match Naruto’s energy while also tempering his more hyperactive tendencies. There’s even a decent set up with Naruto beating Kakuzu, Ino could’ve been thankful, impressed by his new jutsu and wondering why Naruto would go through this much trouble to help them. Have them grow closer as they get to know each other better since in canon they’re basically just acquaintances.

I really love Sakura x Naruto

Narusaku was clearly the only ship that made sense, they could have develop their relationship with ups and downs to finally get together realizing they were meant to be together at the end and understanding they loved and care for eachother. My issue is that the manga has more hints at sasuke and sakura's crushes towards eachother in their youth but the anime drops or alters those moments. But like the anime, once shippuuden comes about in the manga, then there is no buildup...nothing that indicates Sasuke cares for Sakura beyond the crush he (and she) had back in their academy days. In fact, it's just not there at all. All of that is gone with the wind but Sakura feeds into her delusional crush towards Sasuke. If you count the fillers, later released movies, and flashbacks within animated shippuuden...then yeah there was a team-mate bond but not enough for her to love him in the later years when he's gone beyond your average rogue ninja. It's still superficiality since her crush didn't get a chance to evolve beyond that. And she was nearly killed multiple times by him without hesitation of any kind. Yet, she still maintains her delusions about him. Kishimoto KNOWS this and that's why in Boruto he created Sasuke Restuden...where Sasuke and Sakura go on many trips together and grow closer over time. She basically becomes his saving grace and chance at love which he accepts though his trauma stunts him in being a capable father, husband, and anything beyond a protector of Konoha. His past is not an excuse for poor behavior but it explains it all. And Sasuke lucked out because Sakura waited for him.
