и смех и грех. с такой лодкой нужно рыбачить подальше от берега.

GSB is king as an all around surf stick. I used to have a pre 2005 1321m (wish i never sold it). They're heavier, but if you can get your hands on an original, i highly recommend it. Most durable surf blanks ever made out of graphite. Tight lines!

Do you change out the split rings on the jumping minnow besides changing the hooks? If so what size do you use with the 2/0 hooks?

Thanks for the review. I'm in the market for a surf jacket to go with my Frogg Toggs. How is it for insulation? I want to do more winter fishing up here in NH. But for real? You're fishing in those conditions without a PFD?

IMO a $600+ fishing reel should not have plastic parts anywhere in it, period. I just repaired a VSB 150 for a friend's kid. I appreciate that OEM parts are available, but no reel that costs as much as these do should have any substandard materials. The crappy little arm lever spring guide and the associated arm lever spring holder are molded plastic parts that FAIL. I'd rather fish with my old school Mitchell Garcia 300 from 1977. Next time these weak parts fail, I'm going to make replacements using 6061 aluminum, or 316 stainless.

The stock is well prepped with jointer & planer. If you’ve ever wondered what the use case for a benchtop jointer is, this is a good example.

Great video! In the very beginning of the video (the closeup of you casting in slow motion) you appear to remove the line from the roller then hold the line against the reel seat with the palm of your hand. Is this the way you cast, or do you hold the line in your index finger when casting?
@StripedBassHuntАй бұрын
Thanks! I hold the line with my pointer finger.

Just swim sideways to where the waves are breaking, gets you out of rip and take the waves to help get you back in. Biggest thing is staying calm and moving slow. I got caught in big one in Costa Rica and made it out but I was 5 mins from collapse bc I was panicked

i've owned 3 VS's, 2 150"s & a 200, all US made. me & my wife fished about 130-140 days a year. before VS we fished Penn Z's or Daiwa BG's. because we dunked our reels maintenance was done once a week on our reels. the VS's eliminated that. BUT now there's reels that you can dunk and don't have to maintain it as often as the old Penn Z's or BG's. But if you're going to fish your reel submerged, VS or ZeeBass is the way to go.
