Remember that the prohibitions of same sex relationships in Mosaic law says it’s an abomination-not that it’s essentially or morally wrong, but because the Canaanites proscribe gayness. The Israelites weren’t supposed to do anything the Canaanites did. They weren’t supposed to eat shrimp or have sex during a woman’s period either but those things are not issues to the Christian community.

Straight married couples (esp with young kids) are the social pinnacle of the evangelical church. Recently when a Christian friend was automatically condescending about singles as incomplete, socially disjointed beings, I went pretty full on quoting Paul and citing him and Jesus about singleness - dude was shell shocked. I should have pushed further to say that if he couldn’t accept that concept, why did he expect LGBT ppl to? This is so ingrained in church culture they choose not to put themselves in the straightjacket they’d gladly put others in. Regarding the situation above, there is immediate acceptance and even adulation from conservative evangelical circles to be an example they can point to as someone “who changed” for Jesus. But David and Megan sum it up beautifully - this is innate in your core, like trying to change eye colour through willpower and peer pressure!

I had an interesting spiritual experience when a Christian. People gathered around to pray for me because I said I was gay. I thought "Well, here goes. Maybe a demon will manifest". All if a sudden a blanket of intense peace flowed into me. I heard the words, "It's ok. It's ok" . I thought, "Well that wasn't supposed to happen!". That was late 1980s. Happily in a civil partnership now xxx❤

In my street (in the Netherlands) is a church, the Old Catholic Church, that has a rainbow flag on it's window, and blesses same-sex marriages. I believe they're also in the US. It's very common in the Netherlands for Christians to include homosexuals in a lot of other churches aswell. We all know there's a male gay penguin couple that has stolen eggs from other couples, one time from a lesbian penguin couple, it's not just a children's book, it really happened in "Dierenpark Amersfoort". Apparently homosexuality was included in God's plan ;)

i wonder how David McDonald would see those stories of people who actually were delivered ( e.g., after having a demon that causes that lust and identity confusion cast out) and live a life free from those things, no struggle, completely set free, etc. those people either are lying or it's some type of self-hypnosis ( suggestion is a powerful thing, see the things mentalist can do). i am fascinated by that stuff.

@@DeepDrinks A lot of the time I feel like an un-employed person. I show up to work anyway. A lot of married people feel like they really should be single. But they stay married anyway. A store customer feels like they really should be the owner of a brand new watch without paying for it. But they pass on by empty handed. Some people are attracted to minors. Hopefully, they can keep that in check too. Society would collapse if everyone simply aligned their external selves with the internal.

Gay guy here and there is brsinwashing on boy sides. I know a few detrassitioners here in California. They were just gay teens that were on the side of being gender non conforming. All took hormones and one had her breast removed. It bothers me how easily teens can get their hands on cross sex hormones and fast tracted into surgeries.

Teens can’t get fast tracked to surgery. Sex reassignment surgery is almost never performed on trans minors. Youre literally “worrying” about something that doesn’t exist. I’m afraid that you have sadly been brainwashed, ironically by the same disinformation campaign that tried to convince the general public that homosexuality was a disease, and it’s sad to see that you as a gay person are falling for it

God doesn’t want us to live out of our sexuality & be exclusively identified with it. Homosexuality is a SPIRIT; not given to us from God. How do we know? People who are gay usually have either been molested, or have a gay person in their family or are influenced. If God were okay with it; it wouldn’t result from sexual trauma & wouldn’t be a sin in the Bible. Being gay goes against what God asked man to be fruitful & multiply if he intended for man to be gay. I’m not happy about it either but we all have our personal demons to fight.
