I stumbled onto your channel and I must say your videos are informative and well explained. I plan to pursue bee keeping and am drowning myself with information to make it a pleasurable experience. This isn't a judgment, criticism or negative in any way but purely an observation. The beginning mistakes are equally beneficial to our learning as your successes. You can make a what not to do video and use dem as teaching tools. I also seek inexpensive approaches to projects and you mentioned the price of wood. Caribbean weather conditions present an opportunity for falling trees. A tree cutting service or partnering with one could be beneficially. Lastly, are there any old or abandoned wood mills there? Wood mills use planing saws. They can be expensive but if you could find an older or out of service one, it could enable you to grow at no cost. All Thanks and Praises to the Most High..

@@redzwashere I see the passion because I've been there at the ground floor trying to fulfill a dream and limited resources. I got to give it to you though, you are much more resourceful than I every was. I don't know if you realize how creative and expansive your mind is. Bee keeping in general has a high cost of entry and the instruction you have given in the videos makes it a financial reality to me. Keep on pressing thru because you are on a Mighty Mission. Don't give up, the perseverance and struggle is what's going to make you Worty of God's Blessings he has planned for you and your family. Right about now you are realizing a stranger you don't know gave you the answer you've been looking for. Respect!!!

@@redzwashere one more thing, I'm not alluding to a paid channel but most people get paid to teach. I would encourage you to give classes on hive management, tools and building. You could host on your off day (I know there is no such thing) a $20 workshop on hive management. You could have a $20 hive building workshop. You could host a $100 combo where they do both and go home with the hive they build, super and bees. Then offer follow up consultant services because the new keeper will face challenges. The gentleman asking about tools is likely you first customer.

Hi. We do have problems with mites and beetles actually. More so on the beetles side. Treatment for me is with oxcilic acid, but the bees seems to do a good job managing the mites. My stock of bees started out as cut out from the wild.

Have u done any more research? Too many options. I’m not trying to buy the cheapest one, but I think I might get the vevor 3/6 frame electric extractor, I don’t think I will mind flipping the frames, for 10-15 fives I think it will just fine and I don’t have to do it all at once. I can always sell it back and pretty much get my money back. It’s only $215 for 3/6, the 4 frame is $340 I’m not sure if it’s going to make much difference to buy the 4 frame. One guy on Facebook got the 2/4 frame used it once and reselling it of $10 cheaper then a new one

Hi, for the most part this was purchased with the intention of growing. I'm currently at 30-40 hives and you will find that it becomes too time consuming the more hives you have. If you're only keeping a few hives the manual one is more suitable.

What is the most important thing you need as a news beekeeper
@redzwashere
@redzwashere 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dj chavis, I would say that the most important thing is to educate yourself first before even getting anything bee related. For us in Jamaica that would be with RADA the government arm that teaches beekeeping. Do some training with them and only after then you can start with a minimum of 2 boxes of bees along with your basic equipments (hive tool, vail and smoker). Hope this was helpful

Hi gm. If you were told to feed the bees chances are they were being feed prior. People don't tend to sell bees during or prior to a honey flow. We are currently in a dearth period so i would encourage you to continue to feed your bees until the next honey season.
