Its partially true in that they hit puberty and different milestones in the first few years, but then it levels out at maybe age 4-5 meaning your dog will live to an average of 42 based on the refined calculations of 5x7+7=42.

We did the surgery with our cat and recovery is horrible. He is miserable with drain and cone for 4 weeks. We have to squeeze the fluid out regularly. He seemed much happier with his swollen ear. And the fluid draining goes everywhere when he shakes his head. Now there’s a clog in the tube. I wish we had left his ear alone but I was worried about it getting infected or popping. But apparently the blood just clots and absorbs over long time.

We wish we had not drained hematoma in our cat. Animal is far more miserable than just letting the blood clot and absorb.
