I see a lot of people saying Robert would be out for blood, and I agree, but I feel like they forget about Cersei and Joffrey. If Jaime killed Ned and ran off, Robert would want him dead 100%. What would Cersei want to do in this scenario? Literally the exact same thing she did in the story: Kill him. The heir to the Iron Throne is half Lannister.

With Ned death, the war of the 5 king would start must faster but the war would just The Lannister's vs the north and Robb would have show no mercy cause they didn't show mercy to their dad and both Tyrion and Tywin would be piss for different reason by Tyrion would be mad killing someone that important cause he know that without Ned there nothing stop all North Gathing together and Tywin would be only mad probably killing Ned to soon, he should wait when they got their army ready cause if Jamie wait, Tywin could had prepare and start attack the North with together with their allies

Robb would now be the official head of House Stark, whether made King or not, and that's one less bargaining chip the Lannisters have, right off the start. Tyrion explained it best... killing Ned essentially took away a large portion of negotiating power. Sansa and Arya are still in their grasp, but Ned getting killed off, means Tyrion may end up getting killed and stuff only escalates from there Basically, it's a War of Atrocities. Blood gets spilled, and its over in Westeros. 😅

Tbh, I agree, if Jaime killed Ned with Robert still alive, Robert would be out for BLOOD. The Lannister's would definitely be fighting the full might of the crown cuz Robert would not take his best friend's death lightly. No amount of begging or threats would stop Robert from (at least trying) to kill Jaime. The War of the Five Kings would probably just be the Lannisters vs the North and the Crown. Also, I fully believe that Katelyn would feel incredibly guilty, thinking she got her husband killed by doing what she did.

Please do the reverse in part 2, where Ned wins instead. The GOT story without Jaime in it is certainly interesting

If Katelyn knew, her outrage at her husband would come across as insincere. More likely Johns identity gets out.

One thing I feel the scenario skipps out on a bit is Tywin trying to push Ned to the throne. In the main timeline we're told that Robert does not want the throne and tried to push it on Ned, but he redused because of a lack of claim. Cercei wanted to be Queen and Tywin wanted controll over the throne. I can see both trying to manipulate Robbert into giving up the throne using his hatred of targeryans. "The Starks are the only one's without targeryan blood, they should rule by that right." This could be a timeline where anti-targeryan revisionism is pushed 100 times harder with all all the Targeryan buildings renamed, etc. I feel in this case of events Cercei would still cheat with her brother on Ned. Jamie would be kicked out of the Kingsguard by Ned for breaking his oath, but would be spared after some sort of symbolic punishment. John Snow would be much more of a black horse however because once it's turns out that all of Ned's heirs are bastards... he'd be the closest thing to an Heir as Ned lacks truborn children and his closest trueborn relatives are Uncles or cousins at best.

What if Cersei married Roose Bolton? Unlike the other potential candidates, Roose would actually be a faithful husband to her, and he gets Tywin's backing if he aims to usurp the Starks as Warden of the North. Then when the time comes, a Lannister-Bolton dynasty would rise with King Roose and Queen Cersei as the new rulers. Flaying would become the legalized form of punishment.

Interesting scenario what if question. If Robert had a legitimized son ( a bastard he legitimized as a lord) before he became king by combat and then he marries Cersei and the other children are his “half siblings” what are the chances that son would’ve been allowed to survive to adulthood ? Would his uncles back him or want rid of him?

One thing that is just a theory but if it is true would change this whole video is if Littlefinger was the one who told Brandon that he saw Lyanna being abducted by Rhaegar. If he was already dead, perhaps Brandon interprets Lyanna running away with Rhaegar differently and never goes to King's Landing. But like I said, thats just a theory that has yet to be confirmed

Empyrean, I just rewatched house of the dragon season 1 and I believe the dance of the dragons could have been avoided if Rhaenyra stayed after the last dinner in episode 8 and heard the song of ice and fire instead of Alicent. That would be a great what if to explore.
