im rlly disapointed your killing those poor birds. why do people hate crows there just the same as other ones!
@drobb4207 Жыл бұрын
The crows are too numerous. They peck the eyes out of lambs and calves as they are being born and eat their tongues. Those animals die a terrible death. Crows also destroy farmers crops and fruit. They eat the chicks and eggs of ground nesting birds. I've seen them empty every egg out of a dove nest 30' up in a pine tree. The mother dove tried her best to fight them off too no avail.

@@noemifarkas9228 No need to apologize Noemi. I hate discourage any wildlife but the crows and wild hogs are brutal. Starling and English Sparrows displace the Purple Martins here in the U.S. My neighbors grand daughter was run up a tree by a 405 and 315 pound wild hog. They called my house and I was there within 2 minutes. Both hogs charged me but thanks to the grace of God himself and Sam Colt, I won.

Thank you Robert great shooting I have just brought a Pard 007s for my 22 rimfire it will also be used on my 222 and air rifle thats the beauty of the add on next week I will get a better IR , is that a PBirL on the side of your scope.
@kiwicam64192 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith - I'm looking at getting a 007S, so would be great to hear any feedback you have before I pull the trigger on that purchase. Is the length of the unit in addition to the scope easy to get used to? This is one of the main reasons I would shy away from the much cheaper 007V. My primary purpose would be on a .22 for rabbits at 30-60m as they tend to run away from the normal torch light. I have experience using trail cameras with night vision, and some animals (feral cats & possums especially - I'm in NZ) don't like the 850nm LEDs but seem ok with 940nm. To be fair, rabbits don't seem to mind either LED. So I'd be inclined to buy the 940nm unit and optionally supplement with an 850nm torch if more light is required. A friend is using a 940nm (different brand) and thinks they're good. My scope has a 35mm eye piece, so sounds like it will need a thick (3D printer!) ring and hopefully it will be ok. We're playing around with a Pulsar XM30 thermal too, but find the 2.5x base zoom not wide enough for possums. Looks like the pards have a greater zoom, but not sure how that works as standalone. And feedback much appreciated.

Good video, looking to start using steel myself, you showed some steel cartridges at the start but was the ones in the blue cases that you both were using the same loads?
@RobertGriffinshootingTV3 жыл бұрын
Nowthen Anthony. We had an order for some Steel Shot Pigeons and I think we needed 60 to complete the order. Once we'd shot those with the Hull Steel Game Extra (black case) we changed over to Hull Superfast Pigeon in the blue cases. We would have carried on with steel but we keep a separate freezer for the steel shot birds and those 60 would fill it. Plus we didn't have many steel shells left so didn't want to "waste" them. We have a couple of earlier videos from 2019 (I think) where we used steel all day.
@shootingwithanthony34963 жыл бұрын
@@RobertGriffinshootingTV 👍 how did you find the steel that you used? I have dabbled with a few different ones and can only get on with 3'' loads 36g 3's but that is too expensive for the pigeons 🤷♂️
@RobertGriffinshootingTV3 жыл бұрын
@@shootingwithanthony3496 get on with it fine. In season Sam will be out on the shore 3-5 flights a week and I'll do 2-3 + we have 8 ponds and 2 lakes on two estates we lease so we have always used a lot of steel on ducks and geese. I find that "standard" steel needs some adjustment in terms of cutting back on range as energy drops off sharply once yo get beyond 35 yards. However I just use "High Performance" Steel and that is a big improvement in performance. Hull do those Steel shells as "Steel Game" and "Steel Game Extra", the "Extra" are the HP version and I find they are a big step up on the "standard" ones. Hull do those in 28 and 32g and the 28g version are evil little shells....very quick and hard hitting, we have used those a lot on splashes and even decoying Pinks inland.

@RobertGriffinshootingTV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Terry. As I mentioned in an earlier reply it is moved between various guns and we didn't calibrate it to that semi. We knew it was out but we didn't think it made a significant difference. Sam did say it would cause nothing but grief. We did consider not using the footage and we did discard most clips however we decided to retain and use some clips as they added some value to the video.

@RobertGriffinshootingTV3 жыл бұрын
Yes Sam shoots off his left shoulder and uses a right handed semi, also uses a right handed 10g pump action on geese. He did have a left handed semi when he was about 9 or 10 but moved nearly straight away to a right hander when he started using 3.5" loads on geese. It's never bothered him, I guess because it's what he's become accustomed to.
