I dont run it in auto. Even on the streets. I've kept the DCT setting in the second position for 20+ events (same for street). The third setting clamps the clutch pretty hard and can unsettle the car under certain conditions imo. Run Sport Plus across the board on track. (Aside from EDC which I have delete kit for) 95% of the time I have DSC/traction fully off. There are days when it rains or is damp that I may run MDM. (I have nothing to prove and error on the side of caution. F80 has lots of torque.)

lol, but for real... those 110 days are brutal. Didnt run any 100+ days last year. 5 mile in July will be scorcher.

It is very communicative. Lots of tire noise. Probably needs another month or so to grade the pavement in rubber. Track is smoother overall. Less surface change and bumpiness. Seems the fastest drivers all gained a second or so.

Thanks, The previous owner had a phone mount which had predrilled holes that aligned with the catalyst ball mount. Bought some short - flat top alen heads and bolted it up. Try google image searching "PanaVise E46 M3 Mount". Not sure if that is exactly mine but that is 99% the same. It is a really solid setup for the garmin for sure! Also soldered the hardwire power connection to my cigarette lighter and ran it through the center dash under seat.

It is very accurate/close. You will definitely have an advantage. Should be within a few seconds of your digital lap if you have enough driving technique and balls. Wouldnt really focus on lap times for your first event. Just get accustomed to everything and have fun. A sub 2 minute should be obtainable if you have practiced enough. Traffic and point by's will make it hard for you most likely. Just be cautious with it being your first track day. Sonoma requires respect. Lots of walls. Who/when are you running with? I will probably be out there in March with SpeedSF after the repave..

@@Driver_407 I will be with NASA in a HDPE-1 event on 3/24. I got the the ticket from Toyota since I bought the car new. Yea I do notice it is a very hard track and with tons of the wall asides. I only hope it won't be too much traffic and will not be rainy that day.

Nice, NASA should be fairly good for your first time. You will definitely enjoy it if you are already into sim racing :) Supras are amazing on track too. One of the easiest cars to go quick.

Yo, I was in red both days. There were a few other dark E46M on Sunday tho.

No DSSR. Not needed at all imo. Mine is rock solid and ive done 12 track days over the last year with it. Just make sure you have all the yellow plastic washers that go on the shift selector rod. Buy them if you dont. Make sure all you existing parts are in good condition. Selector rod joint/washers/etc. The OEM boot did fit with some cutting and sorta work. Just wasnt to my liking. Had several sets on my F80. After Running the Conti ECF recently. I probably wont run NT01 anymore. They are the same pace/price but will last much longer.

Sonoma is an intimidating place to track. Especially for your first event! I am a huge fan of PFC. Ran a few of their compounds for most of my tracking time, on both my cars. Wanted to try something different. Had the chance to buy several sets of pads at a discount recently. (Raybestos ST-45 and these Project Mu H21. Both are very similar pads) Ran the Mu's for the first time this event. Had no issues of any kind in braking department. They are pretty quiet compared to pfc 08/11/333/ferodo 1.11. Almost no noise. No issues with pedal modulation or feel. Suppose to have really good wear (which i am after). Barely took any material away throughout the 5 sessions. I dont really wash my wheels to comment on brake dust. Im sure they are just as bad as any other race pad. They come in a baby blue color that I kinda dig. Pops inside the wheel well. Not sure they would be my first choice normally but at the price i got them. I will run them all day. They performed great.

There was at least one s2k sacrificed to the wall gods early in the morning. There is always one. Is always in the back of my mind.
