We really shouldn't allow manufactured controversy, however warranted, to stop us from playing a good game. Japan bastardises Japanese and world history all of the time. They add and change things to suit the story. I suppose Ubisoft is simply a victim of their own success. They've done many historical cities and settings faithfully so people expect historical accuracy but they really did away with the idea after Assassin's Creed Balck Flag. Most of that game was fictional in setting, merely taking influence from many islands in the area and mix and matching them to be fun to explore. That gave them permission to make up whatever the heck they wanted and they haven't made a good game since. So many people still buy them before they even come out though the numbers are dwindling. Reach out to your local dweller. Sometimes they don't even buy the game, only the cool looking merchandise. The game should do well enough even if it sucks. They wanted an Afro Samurai, meets Samurai Champloo vibe and it makes no sense why they slapped it on an Assassin's creed title. Executive stupid is what ruined Ubisoft. Executive stupid is what has ruined most AAA studios. The guy who makes the most money shouldn't always just be the guy in charge of directing everything. He doesn't have to be the guy in charge even. The Egos ruin it all. Salesmen who don't know what really goes into a project. Maybe they will learn before they collapse under their own weight, or maybe Ubisoft will be just another sold brand name, bought for it's titles.

100% in agreement. Except for WOT and LOL, all the other games I play are many years old, like still loving Diablo II, KOTOR, CM0102, HOMM3, DS and the likes. A good story will always be the most important thing.

I mean, the whole purpose of creating a fantasy world is to create a place not of this earth, while also finding commonality with our actual world, so you can relate to it. Gender identity is huge in our society today, whether you believe in it or not. That said, I didn't get the whole uproar of Taash's character. The way they wrote it, it made sense within the society of the Qunari they already built over the Dragon Age games. The gender identity issue had more to do with gender roles, and how she didn't fit into any of the female ones. She was bigger, stronger, and wanted to be out fighting. The Qunari has been extremely male dominated as long as they've been in Dragon Age games. The women are supposed to be weak and subservient to the men. Taash has no desire to be that. Thus the gender identity issue. I thought that part of it was just fine, because bucking traditional female norms is an issue a lot of women face in every culture in the world, so why not a fantasy culture? Where they lost me was breaking out the term 'non-binary'. You don't need to be that heavy handed to drive home what Taash is trying to get at. Her story explains it perfectly clear. A fantasy character breaking out 'Non-Binary' pulls you straight out of immersion, and into an eyeroll and immediately thinking 'A Progressive on their fifth double mocha latte with steamed milk, clearly wrote this line.'

Chiming in to comment why your thumbnail tells me your opinion is pathetic: the character selected happens to have a conventionally gorgeous side profile. I admit some characters look attractive or appealing from all angles and this is not one of them. Taash definitely has a "bad angle" and content creators are getting great mileage on it. Shortly into meeting the character, gameplay can progress to a point wherein you sit across from them at a table with two other NPCs. This is where I first noticed said side profile and thumbnails with Taash from this angle usually push false narratives fueled by pure imagination. After all, it is easier to imagine very bland or androgynous features for Taash based on this closeup. Way to miss out on a character with arguably mature sex appeal. I'm writing this comment without viewing the video. At this time, I feel okay about that because your thumbnail tells me this is a critical video about a game Critical did not and will not play. That said, I welcome new information and perspective.

If inquisition is now considered a good game it shows how bad state of game industry is 😢. 40 mins unskippable intro and mmo real time counters in single player as well as paid single player loot. Real ending hidden behind paywall in full priced game already. But it is by magnitude better than current bioware somehow
