Nice take from someone who actually uses different hp’s. I myself own the dt 880 premiums with the REM ADI FS Black Edition & love them. Great review. New sub.

I'm more and more glad that I'm just a hobbyist. Not just that my talent is limited ... I'm also an absolut choatic when it comes to organization: A recording session with me as composer would inevitable end with me crying and everyone shouting and throwing thier instruments at me.

Can you explain then why we see “MUSIC BY…” in the credits at the beginning or end of a film or even in a promos and trailers?

Hi Anne-Kathrin Dern, I am a self-taught orchestral music enthusiast from China because I really enjoy the energy that orchestral music conveys. However, since I am an amateur without professional training, I really need a lot of video tutorials like yours to guide my learning. I have taught myself music theory and am now studying harmony. Although it is not easy, I find it very enjoyable. I have bypassed the internet restrictions to access KZbin and found your video tutorials, which have been very beneficial. I have learned a lot from your videos. I am very excited and really appreciate that you take the time to create such free tutorials. I am 34 years old and do not have a stable job. Currently, I am learning to be a welder. I spend my spare time learning orchestral composition. I hope that one day, when I have a stable job and income, I can make some donations to support you (like paying tuition). I hope to have more communication with you. I wonder if you would be willing to do so. I hope you can reply and give me your contact information. Thank you again. As a Chinese person, I would like to bless you in the Chinese way: May God and Buddha bless you with peace and health.

Great video! I really like that when you start a topic, I always think "yes, I probably know what this is going to be like" and it is always much better! :) Even when you explain thinks I know (or I think I know), something new or a new perpective is learned. Thank you for your super helpful work!

9:40 help me to understand, so am I right in thinking that all the real life players will play along with the mocked up session? So does this mean the conductor should have some input into tempo and volume variations etc from the beginning of creating the mock up? Very interesting video! Thanks!

I LIKE YOUR HONESTY AND SELF-CRITICISM. I have the Revolution, the vintage verb and the FabFilter r2. I missed only the WAVES H-REVERB and the Native Instruments stuff RC 24 RC 48... But I would agree with every word in derber videos. Well done!

1st time here... Having learnt basic theory (plus history) its nice to have a fresh look at this. My tutor was so good at conveying the rudimentaries that it was like going leaps and bounds with ease. Well done Anne-Kathrine for such a clear easy to follow mini class.

I’d be interested in hearing about recording live music. Where you find musicians, where you record them, whether you hire recording engineers, etc. Good stuff :-)

Golden summary, an incredible, well thought out and planned class on practical modulation theory. I believe your calmed, down to earth, humble style of explaining things with this clarity shows that you're a top notch professional. This is the kind of content the community needs.

I love this ! when you harmonize, are you harmonizing based on the scale that melody is in ? For example option 1 when C was the minor 3rd, all of the other chords were selected from the scale of A minor?

This is great information. A couple hack options I'd add for tremolo is 1) get more players or 2) have the same players play it twice and mix the tracks together - in either case, the players can play slower tremolo which is easier to sustain for longer duration, but the effect will still sound the same due to the additional players (in large orchestras this normally isn't an issue because each individual can play slower tremolo and you won't be able to notice the sound difference). But 1 hr tremolo is a long time to be sure!! @TylerMire I play trumpet as well, and I'll second your comment that rests are important (a little bit goes a long way - even one bar or even one beat can make a big difference at times). Also, in regard to that video clip reference to playing behind the beat, what I've noticed is that in our orchestra we are sometimes told we're behind the beat, but if you think about it, it makes sense. If we're listening to the first violins at the front of the stage, for example - that sound has to travel from the front stage to the back stage by the time we're hearing it, plus our sound has to travel from the back of the stage to the front of the stage, which makes it even more behind, so by the time the conductor or audience hears it, it will be quite late (therefore, we need to play ahead of the beat from the sounds we're hearing from instruments at the front of the stage so that our sound hits the front stage at the same time as the front stage instruments).

I think this is very necessary to hear to many people, so that in the journey of hard work to make their dreams true even partially somewhere in the future (like myself), they would keep the RIGHT priorities straight and that way stay realistic, without loosing hope. I just watched "Devil's Conspiracy" and heard "Mercy" and I was SOLD. What a song🔥🔥 Congratulations on your success. I hope to one day as well be a succesfull artist. Looking forward to more amazing content from you. .
