I really adore Promy for standing up for what he believes in. Couldn't help but admire how he's trying his best to level the playing field for his mortals. Still, I'm not convinced Chronos shares the same plight as he does. As for Mel, I love how she's a real product of her upbringing combined with her innate sense of superiority. She really resembles Hades in more ways than one -- considering how uptight she is. And I'm so glad with the route they're going for as they explore her chara identity; It gives her more room to learn from Zag (given how kind-hearted he is). What may transpire once Mel eventually turns over? I'm glad you're finally seeing the socio-political allegories hidden in the game. From the unjust maltreatment of the Gods to the unfortunate repercussions that follow them (i.e. Arach, Echo, Hephy, Dusa), the storytelling really is something else. Every bits of dialogue from the Gods (except Dio and Arte) really paints how severe the class conflict/social divide is. It's high time that they get a taste of their own medicine. In some ways, I saw this current dilemma as the accumulated karma they've gained throughout their reign. Can't wait to see how things turn out! Exceptional gameplay as always and keep it up with the post-game introspections. Your content continues to be engaging and I'm glad to be a part of this ride with you even as a spectator. Looking forward to more of your insightful playthroughs :>

If there was a puddle in front of Promy, I would immediately toss my coat for him to step over it. But then Promy would catch my coat and evaporate the puddle with how hot he is. Anyways.. I don’t think Chronos believes in mortals either. And I think what they’re doing with Melinoe is bold writing ^ I’m really pleased with the writing in this sequel. And truue, we know Melinoe has to turn over, but what happens after is a little scary. I’ll be nervous when she confronts Hera and Athena regarding their respective curses. You know, Dionysus was interesting too what he said before. How gods have “unlimited power”, was speaking like a mortal there ^ perhaps the nectar had him speak some sense haha. My only nitpick is the game should hammer home with how socio-political maltreatments is a systemic issue. Irl, our issues are more abstract because it effects more broadly. In Hades 2, instead we get individual case studies, rather than the broader effects the gods have done to mortals. Sure, we get dialogues here in there about how the gods may casually start a famine and disasters after the war. Exactly like this, I’d like more attention to the nameless mortals that also suffer the consequences at a systematic level. Thanks for sticking for so long!! And you’re absolutely not obligated to comment, so appreciate your engagement and being here! Go forth my mang!! Goo!!!

23:21. Athena and Artemis always protect Zagreus because Zagreus always respects Athena and Artemis. When Zagreus chose Athena and Athena said: "I'm pleased to see your father's stubbornness is manifest in you as such determination, Zagreus. My blessing be with you."

My thoughts on the Vengeance saga, “Not sorry for loving you” top tier manipulation on calypso’s part but it’s such a jam I can’t help but sing along, “Dangerous” such a bop I love it, “Charybdis” I like the song the tune is good but it kinda just feels like a transition song like it’s just there to get from point A to B, “Get in the Water” been waiting for this one and it did not disappoint Steven Rodriguez is amazing, “Six Hundred strike” phenomenal 10/10 for me Ody’s lines “Exactly” and “Next to my wife” chills loved it. Can’t believe we’ve only got one saga left.
@Hamstir427 күн бұрын
The Vengeance saga is growing to me ^ Ya, the Charybdis was interesting lol, I was excited for that one the most, but it did feel like a transition song. I appreciate it more as a hype song now, and it seems to be written in 5/4 time, which could explain the intense upbeat vibe! But what I enjoy when a new saga is released, I go back listening to the older songs. Vengeance Saga recontextualized Ruthlessness for me and I love it even more. Wisdom Saga did the same for me with My Goodbye. Bangers, we are living in bangers! Riight! I heard Epic planned up to 9 sagas, that is wild! I’m going to clutch my pearls over there if you don’t mind.

See what I mean? Prometheus is too wholesome. Hell, I don't know of any other god that is so altruistic, Greek or otherwise. He doesn't even want worship, he just cares about his creation. Also, "Am I naive to trust Hera?". A bit, yeah XD. I wouldn't trust any Olympian, except maybe Artemis and Dionysus. I do agree that she has some fondness for Melinoe, though.

happy (late) halloween! i'm back from long week of work and finally can chill and watch your commentary again. x) this one pop my feed first hehe, i'll be sure to check the others! 0:34 honestly i don't blame you! i mean, most gods in greek mythology put emphasis on "divine retribution" or revenge in a way. in addition, there's not a lot of portrayal of hera being some sort of sponsor to a hero, because some heroes are zeus' children. erm tho in smaller myths when hera perform a deed considered good, it's STILL somehow ties to her agenda of spite. be whether hera's actions is her cursing the city of thebes or blessing jason against pelius --not to take away hera's character, she does have rare moments of actual good just,,, hera will certainly help you in the time you and her agenda/principles aligns together, because hera... hera in hades ii doesn't strike me as a person who experienced a healthy relationship be it in friendships or in her own marriage. yeah, hera remain "loyal" to her marriage, yet there's such a clear divide between "loyalty" and "trust", despite how often the two words interwined together (both demand action) hera exposes both still remain separated cases. and i loved how supergiant portrays that aspect with her. i love how supergiant made her keep her distance from her "family", looking down on *everyone.* she doesn't want your trust, she wants you to do her will. and (un)surprisingly, melinoe, your goals aligns with hers tho geez this is the same mother who threw my boy hephaestus and in their duo boon calls him out "stand" on ceremony i- >:T 2:51 oh boy. just go to dionysus, man having the time of his life in the war bro got a DISCO BALL LOL also, it is sad that the family of olympus under a threat can "unite" in war. it goes to show how best (read: bad as how i'm looking at it they're barely together yknow) they tolerate each other hm,, o.O 29:28 prOMY PROMY and wow that's. that's mean, melinoe i'm looking at myself and wow i'm weak i don't blame you for that melinoe though i have a feeling you're equally naive as me 30:16 hAHA smoooch >3< and his voice had that twinge of guilt (probably me projecting uh) like it's his fault of mortal suffering gahhh 30:19 IM MENTIONED HUUAH promy v

Welcome back from your diligent work mang! Thanks for taking the time to tune in to each c: (and cute little reminder you don’t have to!) Beautifully said about Hera! I do appreciate Supergiant’s interpretation of Hera and the children get nervous when Hera is involved, and rightly so haha. There’s so much to unpack with Hera and I’m confident Supergiant is cooking even more. I do symphatize for her regarding the lack of healthy relationship, which explains the trust issues and calling Melinoe’s nectar offerings an “act”. I don’t take Hera for a liar, so it’s interesting she said she believed Melinoe would be an asset to the cause since the beginning, so I’m really curious how deep Hera and Melinoe can go. Even more interested when Mel would confront Hera about Heracles and Echo, which would not align with her interesting, hmm!! LOL, truuue, I would like Hephaestus to call her out on that. Never forget! It’s actually funny, the disco ball actually prevents an encounter since he dislikes fighting (I suppose). What we need is a giant disco ball, and the war would be over! Problem solved. Easy. The saddest part is, the gods could barely agree on how to handle the war. Although they unite under a foreign threat, they are bonking each other's heads while keeping a front that it’s all under control lmao. Melinoe is being insensitive to mortality and really said we’re better off dead (not exactly, but that’s funny). And I’m no Heracles either, so it’s okay Bao :) Promy gets any form of love c: You are mentioned!! As a craftsmen, Promy likely saw so many flaws in mortalkind and he blames himself. Or as a parent, his mortal babies are not prepared for the unfair world. They can’t write Promy like this without me going weak for him! I’m no good on heights either, blood tho? I may be a freak during blood test c: LOL the cave looks cozy! Ooo, I wasn’t even sure if Promy could see a linear future, or branches of potential futures, but it seems to be the latter ^ as for gaining Foresight for others? That’s pretty dope, and could characterize how selfless his power could be ^ Oooh, interesting tweet ^ the emphasis on the liver is really cool and I’m down for that interpretation, or Supergiant just pairing them both because Aetos liked Promy overtime. I am a total fan of the minimal story telling of Promy’s sprite alone showing the bond with the eagle. Effective storytelling with so little. I agree the most compelling antagonists fall into the justified category. My critique of that in general, not at supergiant, is that the villains tend to have a point, but are villains, because they take it too far. It’s just a little frustrating when the antagonists want to initiate societal changes, but the writers have to make them go too far so we’d still be supporting the protagonist. I kind of see that with Chronos, but I don’t see that with Prometheus atm? Hmmm! I applaud Supergiant’s move with Melinoe!! It’s perfectly as you say ^ it would be very interesting if her mortal friends ask Mel to keep some distance, and Mel may have to reflect how she feels regarding mortal life. I believe I had lasagna that day, but thanks much for enjoying and cooking down here Bao! (spelling looks good from here, presidential candidate socialist bro Promy!!)

Happy day of all saints!!! Just popping in bc I have no time to watch this rn (about to leave to run some errands) but one thing about the "humans are made to suffer" that's not socialism that's nihilism :V
@Hamstir427 күн бұрын
Happy new November!!! You go off saints. No worries Liz, thanks for popping in. You go make those errands run instead! Goo!!! The socialism bit was referring to the redistributing of that suffering to the gods, thus changing the status quo. But hmmm! Nihilism is interesting ^ It’s weeird tho, if I remember the paradox, nihilism literally means to believe in “nothing”, as in no purpose (neither good or bad, just nothing). So actually, nihilism is not possible as a concept, and Promy believes in mortals. But without getting to the technicals, I do get your point: “humans made to suffer” would imply life is meaningless. I’m not sure how far to go with nihilism, but my issue with that implies Prometheus is a pessimist, which I don’t actually think he is! He has the raging fire to shake the world upside down!
@disastrouslylargeicedmocha27 күн бұрын
I’m back o7 I hope YOU had a wonderful halloween too ham! 0:35 [Remembers Athena’s dialogue on envying Zag bc she can feel that Nyx really does care for him as a mother and she hasn’t had a mother figure] … Maybe. 0:41 i think she’s just helping her bc Mel can go down and beat Chronos in the face 0:56 I don’t think you did, that’s so cool looking! 3:55 YEA THAT”S RIGHT ACTUALLY!!!A lot of people understand that Poseidon has domain over only the sea, but no! He’s the “Εωωοσγαιος”, the Earth-shaker, and the “Γαιηοχος”, the Earth-holder! You must imagine it like one of those science textbook illustrations that show the crust of the Earth and everything above and below: Poseidon has domain over the Earth’s crust and the waters it contains. Zeus’ dominion is the Atmosphere, and the “Heavens”, while everything UNDER the Earth’s crust belongs to Hades. The only exceptions are, well, Volcanos. Who are named after you guessed it, Vulcano, which is the roman name of Hephaestus, since they’re mythologically the chimney of his forges (You’ll be pleased to know that in greek volcanoes are called Ηφαίστεια, which mean “belonging to Hephaestus”, but is also a word for chimney, though not one you’d use for the chimney of a house I think. Maybe a factory one) 4:37 I don’t know if you’ve watched the livestream BUT Hermes dancing throughout Dangerous while Odysseus was fighting for his life was hysterical. Also Ody literally became an anime protag. Good for him. “Next to my wife” was such a cold line 5:13 I mean there’s only Odysseus left at this point, I don’t really think it could have had it even if it wanted to. While I ADORE Scylla (the song), maybe there should have been one song about escaping the both of them in the thunder saga, since they were the two monsters of the Strait. Instead of separating them. 11:06 unneeded shade much?? 12:41 Yay sibling bonds!! 21:39 Oh this reminds me, the veiled statue might be Eos. It reminds me of L’Aurore of Alfred Finot, and the one by Denys Puech. And also, it seems to always be illuminated. 23:50 WHAT DO YOU MEAN ALL BUT ONCE- the banquet she means the banquet i’m stupid don’t mind me 29:57 Mel baby sorry but that one Prometheus sculpts humanity out of clay bit is known as the myth of the creation of humans. All but one group of people, i should point out. Since Supergiant is in an Ovid kick. The people of Aegina. Those are ants. They were made from ants :/ Zeus was involved then Hera was involved then Zeus was involved again. Myrmekes, Myrmidons, you know how that is. 30:10 Not to be a contrarian, Ham, but….uhm… Take a look at what’s happening to Ephira (destroyed) and the region of Thessaly (Also destroyed). Prommy can have all the good intentions on earth, in the heavens And in the hyperuranium, but you can’t really watch a guy that’s working with the Big Man responsible of regurgitating all the dead (vengeful and non) out of the afterlife, and not letting newly dead souls into the afterlife, leaving their bodies to rot and spread illness and actively having legions burning cities and going “Yeah no actually, this guy is good”. Mel might not be the most tactful person in existence, but to believe Prommy wants to save humans, I’m waiting for a mention of whatever safe heaven he has established for them and how he has been working to get them there, whether or not they are against his cause. If he has been saving humans from the destruction wrought by Chronos, by the Gods I will gladly apologize to him personally in greek, but If he’s allowing the forces of chronos to kill indiscriminately while being chrono’s right hand man he’s not the caring father of humanity he claims to be, sorry :/ That’s just not how it works. Mel can keep beating his ass, and humanity will mourn the Titan who once risked everything for them, and then left them at the hands of Chronos legions once he was free again. 34:01 No, Mel, *I* think that. Me, not her. You gave up your arm to heal HIM and he FLEW AWAY instead of staying and helping you recover? AFTER YOU GAVE AN ARM?? Girl that’s on the record FOREVER. You’re literally the only chance the world has against Chronos and you lost an ARM for him how is no one more upset about this?? 35:14 ok, let’s. What’s your point? She’s the goddess of death, ghosts, nightmares. Nothing the mortals would invoke towards them. She’s not the frontline face speaker costumer service of Gods, those are people like Apollo. Aphrodite. The Muses. Dionysus. Mel’s the back end worker. She doesn’t care for better or worse and it’s not her place to. Her place is to kill Chronos, and when everything will be restored, learn the intricacies of the underworld, and the diligent administrative work of the House of Hades. I’m looking forward to any character growth, but it’s not…imperative in any way.

Does Mel even know that her grandfather was a mortal? 🤔 Hearing her opinion about mortals, my guess is no. I know you already tried to use a keepsake to trigger a dialogue (Athena - Arachne), but will you try the onion with Prometheus?
@Hamstir427 күн бұрын
I forgot the details, but I assume she does know at least Persephone was part mortal?! She either mentioned this with Moros or Heracles. Which was why I was thinking she would be able to empathize with Heracles in the future ^ balancing living as a mortal and god in a world where neither appreciate either side. Speak of the devil! I tried the Onion Keepsake the Run after, so you'll see that tomorrow. I'll spoil you to save you the trouble if you want. He says nothing about it, or rather he continues with his other dialogues. Meaning 1) I'm still exhausting his initial dialogues, or 2) He doesn't have a Dora keepsake interaction at the moment. Which I think is the same case for Athena-Arachne.

31:33 That’s funny. Also I read the description but don’t get it.
@Hamstir427 күн бұрын
I’m not leaving Promy one hit again. As for the description, I tried to be concise, but could add more to clarify so mb. If it helps, you don’t have to focus on the word socialism, but I brought it up as a way to identify Prometheus’ affiliation in the world of Hades. In our world, wealth governs social and political inequality. Keep in mind I’m from the United States, so politics may vary, but wealth influences political inequality since organizations could form political committees or super pacs, ultimately undermining individual political voices such as us. I start with this because I believe this inequality in social and political influence is apparent in Hades, and is a direct problem Prometheus wants to address. However, instead of the inequality in wealth irl, it’s the inequality of suffering he seeks to even out. I personally don’t think this is the right move for Prometheus, since I don’t know how making the gods suffer would help the mortals suffer less. But the focus of Prometheus’ logic is evening out the accumulation of suffering between mortals and gods (and titans sure). If the use of the term “suffering” sounds weird, you can substitute it with “happiness” and inverse the relationship, it’s the same to me. In this version, the gods would be accumulating happiness, and Prometheus wants to redistribute that happiness from top to bottom. So, I predict by the end of the series, the gods will still be happy, but will not live as unreachable as before, since this is the price in bridging that inequality Prometheus wants to address. Socialism isn't important for this prediction but pretty much aligns with what I'm cooking.
