How many VLS cells will the Australian version of the AUKUS nuclear submarines have?
@LeonAust
@LeonAust Күн бұрын
This British/Australian AUKUS submarine currently being developed to add our Virginia class nuclear submarines order, I hope is to have the capability to increase the VLS count during mid contract improvements, similar to the Virginia block V modules VPM) Richard Marles is denuding the Nuclear submarine land attack capability refusing the new Virginia Bloc V. Instead he orders new built Bloc VII as they will have minimal VLS capability thus cheaper! One of the reasons we went nuclear is that of the land attack capability and he removes it!

Unfortunately, 🇬🇧 has too few of everything. Type 26 order needs to be doubled, as does the type 31. A bigger, more heavily armed replacement for the type 45 is needed, and a new class of well armed corvette for local defence of British waters. More F-35's are needed for the carriers, at least 2 flat top assault ships for the Marine expeditionary force, 6 new large fast combat support vessels, and another 6 Astute class subs! As i said more of everything. Our government pretend to be one of the big boys, but are never prepared to back it up!!!

So are we now getting type 26, 31 and 32 or is type 32 a replacement for 31. Why is there zero mention of type 32 on the Royal Navy website?

Q. Until the announcement DID ANYONE KNOW? Many believe that BoJo just got his facts muddled up and we end up with a Type 31 morphing into a Type 32. Remember we had a Type 31a or Type 31e. The Type 83 Destroyer is talked about but absolutely NO REAL idea about Size, Capabilities, Armament etc. Odd that the type 42 Destroyer was morphed into the stretched version of HMS Bristol Type 82 but with Labour cancelling the 2 Aircraft Carries CVA1 & CVA2 so the Type 82 disappeared. Q. Should the new Destroyer be Type 85 with reference to Type 45?

The Save the Royal Navy website, which is usually on the ball about these things, reports that it will be a general purpose frigate that will follow on from the Type 31. General purpose is military speak for not fitted to fulfil a speciality role. So I don’t think we should expect very much more than we are getting from the Type 31. The Holyrood publication states it will be built on the Clyde, but I think that’s highly unlikely. Even if it goes out to tender, Babcock’s frigate factory in Rosyth would have to start favourite.

The Italians have been making this choice for the CISW for years. The rotary barrels have a range of only 2500 meters. But also compared to the RIM 120 RAM: 900K DOLLARS for a single missile. The Vulcano Projectiles 10 times less... and from the results against the HOUTIs, WHERE the RIM 120 missiles on the German frigate misfired. and the rotating barrels hit the target only a few meters from the American ship. They missed out the most important ammunition, “madfires” and “ALaMO” which are continually guided during their flight time making them extremely effective
@williamzk9083
@williamzk9083 14 күн бұрын
Yes, the Italians use DART guided ammunition on their 76.2 mm gun which is guided, the United States has Mad fires FOR THE 57 MM gun which is not only guided but have their own seeker. It remains to be seen whether 40 mm guns will get a guided round or even 35.. The Smaller calibre of the gun the higher the fire rate which gives more opportunities for a hit at the sacrifice of range. I believe the technology that made this possible was the laser ring gyro but I’m pretty sure pendulous gyros are now used.

I'm sorry but if you look at Sweden and then look at the UK, it's hard to understand that the UK can produce such advanced stuff as you do. Your roads and built quality of houses and just about everything is like traveling back in time compared to us.

Sad to say but war is a necessary evil and o e best be prepared for it whenever it rears its head. The military industrial complex need to be put in check by these western countries especially the US they over charge for the so called "advance technology " that takes them a decade to develop like the GRF class carrier 1 every 10 us years whereas PLAN dropping them every other year and yes I'm talking about CATOBAR not just STOBAR and for less the price, even the US defense industry knows how absurd it is but yet nothing comes from it and the tax payers are the ones who are at the detriment of these corporations.
