It IS driverless. The person in the taxi isn't a driver. He's in the car for the same reason there is that person in the driverless train. I believe it has something to do with the local government regulations because if you go to let's say Shenzhen, I believe there is no person sitting in the driver seat. In the beginning, ALL the driverless cars and taxis in China had a person in the driver's seat. But as time passed, some cities started removing the restrictions. Since Shanghai still has a person in the driver's seat, it probably means they started these services much later than the other Chinese cities.
@MrAlexCage12 күн бұрын
I guess i will go to any other city to try it. I wanna experience the "Driverless" ride, not with human but with tech.
@ChinaSongsCollection12 күн бұрын
@@MrAlexCage Well, that taxi WAS driverless. That guy isn't driving. You can almost consider him as just part of the seat! But yes, if you prefer to have no-one there on that seat, I think there are a few cities with taxis having no-one on that seat. I believe Shenzhen is one of those. Look forward to your video of that experience👍

There is an old Chinese saying, "no one would pick up lost items on the road," implying that if something or money is left on the street, it won't be taken by others. This reflects a society where people lead a prosperous life and adhere to high standards of civility and morality, akin to a utopian society. China may not have yet achieved this ideal, but compared to many other countries worldwide, it is remarkably close. If I were a foreigner, I might doubt that China could attain such a state, yet I am deeply grateful to be Chinese. Therefore, I only feel pity for those who doubt this.

Several things must be clear. First, the surveillance system is mighty in China. Second, as Chinese people are getting richer than before, people no longer care about those ordinary things. This is what we should learn about the true definition of scarcity: if the resources are scarce, people are more likely to save the resources that they have. Sometimes even to grab from others. When the condition is flipped upside down, people become more generous naturally. All in all, it means China is running towards a better future with prosperous development.

In fact, it is not that Chinese people are inherently more moral, but rather that in China, almost everyone has a family, property, and a job (at least one of these, and most people have all three). This means that everyone is a "well-established individual". you’ll find that China has virtually no slums or homeless people-achieving this is a complex matter that we won’t delve into here. People see themselves as "well-established individuals," so they would not compromise their dignity by stealing, especially not low-value items. They dismiss such thoughts themselves, considering it utterly unworthy and foolish. Another important reason is the presence of surveillance cameras in public places. This means that unless you completely avoid the main roads, you will always leave traces of your movements. Very few people possess the capability to plan a quick escape route that avoids all cameras. If someone had the intelligence and execution ability to do so, they could easily secure a decent source of income without resorting to theft.

@@firstlast-pt5pp They don't see a better future as unemployment rate in young people is fairly high in recent years. They call this "lying flat", meaning not succumbing to society's pressure to overwork etc. It is something that's going on with the young generation. East Asian countries just do not resort to stealing or looting as much as Western countries, like the US. There are random news of people in China's countryside looting a turned over truck full of oranges. They will go for the small things only when there is an opportunity right in front of them, and they are usually nothing compared to the ones in the US.
