Looks like a perfect fit. But I can see it limiting movement when trying to work. But fashion wise, it looks perfect. My twisted mind would buy two, one for working, and for on the town. Thanks for the info.

Just bought the Big Bill wool 28 oz. XL overalls from Safety Vests and more, new, for $141. They're great! I've been wearing them all day with Pendelton shirt jac, and they're not too bulky. Like them so much I bought another pair of the 24 oz. for $121. I wear a 60 year old Filson red and black hunting coat from my father-in -law when it gets much colder, but no way would I spend $495 for Filson bibs. Too much for a label.

Thank you very much for this video. I'm 5'9 and about 180 lbs, and I have a medium regular length vest. It covers my belt a bit but as the day goes on, it goes to the top of my belt, or just slightly above it - I think my jeans sag a bit throughout the day. I always worried it looked a bit too short with the belt exposed, but I suppose that's how it's supposed to look.

Used to be able to get the WW2 Melton wool GI cargo pants from 20$ a pair but they are impossible to find now. Those were great pants. I have one of the Melton wool Trenchcoats that my friends grandfather walked across Europe in and its still in great shape minus a couple cigarette or fire holes. Its so heavy you could lay down in the snow and sleep if you had too 😆I really like wool and natural material thanks for the review.

It's interesting to me how the nomenclature has changed. The "map" pocket was originally designed for holding game and the "nick-nack" was for holding cartridges. I guess it just isn't PC anymore! Nice review though, I purchased a Filson Packer coat about 8 years ago and love it. Good thing too, because they've doubled in price to almost $1,000.00.

Sleeve length is designed for monkeys. In order to fit long arm people they tell normal people to deal with it. That ticks me off.

I just picked up the lined mackinaw work vest. Pretty nice vest. I normally wear a medium but definitely a small in this one, and my other Filson.

i initially bought the mackinaw jac-shirt then ended up buying the tin cloth field jacket, in retrospect i should have bought the field jacket with the wool liner as an extra. I mostly wear the field jacket with a hoodie. The one thing i will say though is the collar on these tin cloth jackets being mackinaw wool...it's such a terrible idea. I get it, wool is warm and this is a thick warm jacket, especially with the liner. But the extra wool collar should be part of the liner. As is, otherwise, this jacket is a **great** fall and light winter jacket and the neck is usually a very sensitive part of the body, and mackinaw wool is very scratchy. I'm also surprised this doesn't just come with the hood. They have a matching hood, it's just an extra buy, I don't even mind the cost it's the convenience of having it part of one package (where i live for example the hood has been out of stock).

Great coat and video. They had that one in that color at the Filson outlet store here in MN. in a L. I'm a little bigger than you (6' with a 43" chest) and I thought the large too big on me or I'd have bought it. They didn't have a medium unfortunately.

Great jackets and video. I enjoy your channel. I really like the color of your double Mackinaw Cruiser. I haven't seen that color before in them. Is that a blue or purple? Looks purple on my monitor. I like it. I have both jackets in the same size (M and a 42). I'm 6' with a 43 inch chest and 33 inch waist for those wondering about sizing. I can still wear a hoodie and other layers underneath.

After some time has passed, how would you compare these to the wool lined Filson goatskin gloves? I'm seriously torn between the two. Love all my Filson stuff, but never owned Hestra gloves before. Not doing super heavy-duty work in them, just wearing around town in occasional snow. I hope you didn't discontinue the channel. P.S. you kinda remind me of Nate Hilts from the Dead South, whose videos I also thoroughly enjoy. Thanks!

I tried the Thursday Boots jacket. Great construction, but sending it back, for the reason shown here, no back gusset means that when you are driving with arms out the back pulls tight, and with no natural give in waxed cotton it's not a great feeling. I'm going to try the Tom Beckbe Chatom jacket next - similar trucker cut, with a western touch which I like, but full gusseting in the back.

Hestra makes fantastic gloves, I've been skiing in them for over years. They have a model and options for just about any activity you can imagine.
@adamr63Ай бұрын
I bought a pair a few years ago, not sure if they have made any changes since, they had the protective membrane all around liner. They were literally the worst glove I've ever worn and the first glove and probably the first article of clothing to make me so angry and disgusted at the same time. To be brief, my hands sweat like an ice cold beer in a heatwave, and stay soaked and clammy until you take them off, when they become cold, soaked, and clammy when you finally wrestle them back on your hands. There is a reason no one else makes ordinary gloves with a completely hermetically sealed liner that acts as a barrier to the minutest amount of moisture escaping. After two dog walks in very cold temps I put them in the back of my car as emergency gloves, one day they might save my life, until then they and the company can go to Hell.

Had Johnson wool pants for years, just found out today that they only offer two lightweight styles in 100% wool now. All the heavy warm options are 80/20 or 85/15 wool/nylon. Very disappointed.

I love rough out. Nice jacket. Got pair of chukka boots in full grain rough out and absolutely love them, but I found a tear on top of one the other morning. I’m active at work, but not really exposed to items that would cause concern for that kinda of damage. Also, it’s been my understanding that the rough out is suppose to be more resistant to cuts 🤷🏼♂️.
