I've just finished making these and I'm having them with an avocado shake. It went pretty well! The making of the dough when smoothly, it stayed liquid for a while and then started thickening rappidly, like when thickening a sauce. They didn't melt while cooking, I waited for a strong boil and stirred the whole time. I substituted most of the sugar with white because I ran out of dark, so I suppose the taste is a bit different. And I didn't bother rolling them into balls, I tried a couple and it seemed like it would take a pretty long time, so I chopped the snakes in small cubes. Doesn't change anything, you just probably can't fit them through a straw. However, they are tasty, firm and chewy, not slimy, and pretty pleasant to eat. I saw some recipes for potato starch noodles, I'd guess the texture is pretty simmilar.

Hey just a question. Are the boba pearls soft or hard to chew on? I used cornstarch before and the bobas came out harder than tapioca boba

Let me save you some time. I literally just finished this and it wasn’t good. I’m craving boba 🧋 and wanted the tapioca pearls in my milk tea but I have no tapioca starch. So I looked up cornstarch recipes and no. No. No. No. it’s gross. Don’t do it. I followed the video step by step. Maybe I did something wrong but I did everything exactly as it said down to the T.. My kitchen is a mess and I have corn starch all over me and still I have no boba 😢 just milk tea. Oh well 🤷♀️ at least I have the milk tea.
