Apologies lads, I ran the math with scouts having a 3+ base save. They actually have a 4+ which means the Yaegirs do indeed kill a squad in melee with 2 tokens and warriors pride

It is possible I misheard or you did the math correctly regardless - but I think you said the scouts have a 3+ sage. They have 4+. Did you do the math assuming 3+ or 4+ save?

I played a 5-game tournament this weekend, and my Yeagirs were really helpful. They almost never saw combat, but being able to sit on the "natural expansion", and do things like Sabotage, containment, recover assets. They're 100% worth it. I may pick up a second set and try they, but like Matt says, having just one will help your game immensely.

A yaegir dying can be a big thing since the League loses his/her gene thingimachig (or whatever the name is). Does something similar apply to ironkin? Or are they more easily "replaced"?

Any chance we will see a tere idw of this unit since Pariah Nexus had such an impact on Battleline units, as well as actions and assault veing divorced from their 10th edition union? I think that deserved another look Splitting them may not be a bad idea, but if you are having trouble with your units getting annihilated too quickly, taking a full squad of 10 has value, especially since the little guys are just tough enough that they usually soak a whole unit or two of shooting, unless they dedicate a really threatening unit to remove them. To kind of continue on, I feel like a unit of 10 with an attached kahl, medic, theyn, etc provides an annyoingly tough unit if they sit on an objective. Co sidering their OC2, they have to dedicate a not insignificant a.ount of fire to take them out. Im going to do some experimental games with a Grymnir + hearthkin to see if they make a more formidible objective holding unit. Considering the corvs replace any missing bolter shots displaced by heavy weapons, you are talking 10 T6 W1 sv4+ w/6+++ putting out 20 S4 AP0 D1 shots, and then adding in your choice of heavy weapon and Grymnir spychic shooting. They could really benefit from grenades and go to ground, especially when you have the comms (though never count on that coming back). I like them. And I will continue to try to figure out how I can wring out wvery last bit of goodness from them.

I get the urge to lead 5 units of warriors with the ironmaster inside a landfort. Using the extra bodies rather than cover to protect the Ironmaster. This will force the opponent to commit more to get rid of the static 3 heal on the landfort.

I see teams lists and I like.

For the second list, they have exactly enough transport space across the Sagitaurs and HLFs for all of their infantry. I think the split would be warriors in 3x of the Sagitaurs, one to sticky home, one beserks in a Sagitaur, the other two split one each in the HLFs, with one of the HLFs also bringing along the Ironmaster.

Maybe have another look at the Warmaster Votann lists for single player purposes. Cheers for the vid.

Question for the maths, why is a 4+ save on your chart not just an automatic fail for plasma guns? Aka 8.33 successful wounds?

Getting ready to take Votann to Nova GT... have yet to play them and after hearing this a bit nervous... I have no Beserks and 15 Hearthgurad, 6 Bikes, 4 Sags, 1 Herk, 1 Kahl, 2 Champs, 10 Yaegir, 6 Thyndr, and 20 Warriors. Did my best to build an Votann Swiss Army Plasma Knife. Feeling like I need more bikes and or some Beserks but dont have the time or money to get them ready in time.

What's better if you have the points in your opinion : 6 thunderkyn or one hekaton fortress?

I think that if the land fort had its troop capacity increased to 14, we would see a lot more ironmasters. A 3-man thunderkyn plus an ironmanster would make a lot of sense in a landfort.

It also gives a pretty interested stat - points spent per point killed. Basically the point efficiency of the output on the units. I love the insight here! The Berserks having those tactical Plasma Axes is cool to see. I almost went with them, but in my local scene, 3W models are really prevalent so i chose hammers for the consistency there. If hordes get more popular I'll need to get some axe units for sure though.

I am a Votann player and newish to 40k, nids were my first army hated them and picked up votann combat patrol box and I now have i think just under 3k points of models. I havent lost a match yet among my friends, even coming back from a 30 point deficit turn 1 after losing over half my army. I beat a 2k space marines army with less than 1k points of votann. They are super fun and really good, I cant wait to see what the codex brings us. Also when I built my bikes i accidently put the hover wheel, that links to the base, on backwards and had to hard glue them to the base. I also have 3 more bikes from my second combat patrol box that i refuse to build because i dislike them. I did magnetize my entire patrol box and kinda regretted it. I have it setup as wysiwyg as far as what you need to actually swap out.

I honestly hate this model for some reason, maybe its his looks but thats just me

Ion beamers dont require stratagem to boost their output and do and average of almost 8 dmg into a hekaton equivalent. Also they are a better overwatch into stuff like 8bound and also better dmg into t12 vehicles.
