My problem with dota balancing is not that certain characters are too strong or w/e its the fact that there are 2-3 characters per role that are just way more popular than the rest. On easy lane you have to play against either Axe, LC or BB almost every game, on offlane you have to play against Luna, PA, Madusa every other game. League does that with certain characters they nerf characters that might not be as broken as ksante but too popular common examples are Zed, Yasuo, LB, Sylas if they're too strong everyone plays them.

The players itself are the one makes this game unenjoyable Stop playing this game for 1 year now. The toxicity of the players are unbearable. When you do your best but your team mates are just straight feeding and complaining blaming etc., and there are smurfs that just keeps dominating the game ... And you need to endure that disappointments for the whole 45 to 60 mimutes until a 1 single freaking Game ends. I have a regular job and I only have small time of playing games. Wasting an hour of the toxicity of the players in Dota is not worth it at all. Then suddenly I just found myself playing Mobile Legends and Apex Legends which 1 game only lasted for 15 to 20 mins at least if the team is toxic it can be replace faster with another round. And this mobile games has more better matched up system than Dota

5:42 I don't agree that the new heroes in dota 2 are going the way of complexity. In fact, they are quite balanced in terms of complexity and difficulty. Kez - has 2 modes and 4 skills for each mode respectively, which makes him a little more complicated than other heroes, but similar mechanics can be found on rubik, invoker, brewmaster, morphling. Ringmaster - Nothing more than a regular caster, literally a QoP. Muerta - has fear and silence, a skillshot to hit the opponent with, an ult that makes invulnerable and gives damage, so it's just SF(coils that easy to miss+fear) and a unique ult. Primal beast - has pudge's ult, 1st and 2nd ability are easy to understand after first use, 3rd skill is a bit tricky but in his defense I can say that it's a buff like pudge's flesh heap so you can just press it when you feel to it. Marci - wisp with 2 rubick's telekinesis(on herself and on enemy) and ult that gives you hit faster (MOM without silence). So I really don't understand what hard and complicated with this heroes. Personally the most hard macro and micro heroes were added more than 9 years ago. And for me Kez lays between Slark and Morphling in terms of difficulty(closer to Slark actually)

My take is that Dota somehow becomes much more fun as you grow older. I played League from S3 onwards and then quit for a couple of years. After watching Arcane, I got that itch again, and now Im playing both Dota and LoL. LoL is pure nostalgic at this point and its the MOBA where I know all the champs and their abilities BUT Dota is becoming more my go-to game. I dont know why because I absolutely hated it when I was younger but Im 28 now and I tend to opt for Dota instead because of it's slower and more strategic pace. Also it's a really beautiful game making it feel much more immersive.

My MMR is divine 2-3ish and now that I know about immortal I think I will just play normals no need in playing ranked if the quality is worse than normal games if I succeed. Thanks for sharing this vid it saved me hours of grinding for worse gameplay.

I think it's ironic that League tries so much to avoid hard counters yet still has awful balance, worse player agency, and less comeback potential because of all their design choices. And because of how many mechanics they've gutted to streamline their game, a majority of their champion kits are lackluster and homogenous.

Here in southeast asia the old moba players just migrated on the mobile space like MLBB, WildRift, etc. and it even grew the moba players to the more casual demographics because of its dumb down moba aspect but still having the complexities of a basic Moba. You can even usually see local mobile esports tournaments in malls

He is, but he will be a LOL hero done right. Icefrog will show that he can make a balanced game that has old school Dota kits and modernized LOL kits. Then League will have nothing else to offer aside for their anime/korean aesthetic (though Marci, Hoodwink, and Willow are already trying to go in that direction).

Riot August mentioned on his stream that the ad carry role is almost exclusively reserved for Marksmen because of League's item system and that if they had bkb, then melee ad carried might be possible. But as it is you jump into the enemy team and instantly get cc-ed for 3 years and bursted down

It's not just a lack of BKB, but also the stupidly low TTK and the lack of turnrate that makes melee carries nonviable.

@@SadFace201 well, the thing is, League's system is just impossible to balance the TTK. In Dota, carry is usually either Str or Agi. Just from their natural stat already give them some kinda tanky with Str also give HP and Agi give armor. However, in League, most damage item don't help with your survivability. A carry in League will die just from someone looking at them a bit mean. However, nerfing the damage won't solve anything at all. It's a dilemma, they already tried it like 5 or 6 years ago. If damage isn't high enough, late game tank is unkillable. The tank meta back then was so toxic that a full built tank can easily chase like 2-3 full built carry at the same time, without getting killed. So, they have to buff damage enough that full built carry can still kill tank fast enough. And the result? Of course if they can melt tank they can melt anything with their damage so of course TTK will be low. It's pretty much impossible to balance this in League at this point. If a melee carry have somewhat average TTK, tank will basically be unkillable. If tank have average TTK, anything not tanky enough will melt like cheese. The game is unbalanced by choice, that's all.

For example: - why do carries have to build 6 damage items unlike in dota? - why are full built items in League more cost efficient than components? - why are there few or limited hybrid defense/offense and AP/AD items in League? - why are there so few items with strong actives? - why is the entire game still balanced around Flash? - why are certain class archetypes pigeon-holed into specific lanes? So many things that compound into the stale meta that is League of Legends.

They don't want any champion to be best of both world, both tanky and high dps at the same time. They designed the game to be min-max so missing items will result in missing out a lot of damage (of course you can still choose to do lower damage for better survival). - why are full built items in League more cost efficient than components? They already tried that in the past, there used to be some strategies about buying multiple Doran's items (the same as 2 3 Bracer for dota). Simple answer: they didn't like it so they changed it into kinda forcing player to build full item. - why are there few or limited hybrid defense/offense and AP/AD items in League? According to them, hybrid is toxic. Hybrid damage is very hard to defend against, while hybrid defense is way too versatile. There's still hybrid damage but they don't need hybrid item to do hybrid damage. - why are there so few items with strong actives? - why is the entire game still balanced around Flash? They already tried, like 2 or 3 years ago. They added a few items with strong effect (equivalent to dota's aeon disk, force staff, orge seal totem,...). The game back then was so broken that they have to remove them all in 1 year. Simply put, most champion was designed to be strong with their kit alone without item, and strong item instantly cause them to become balance nightmare. That's also why the game is still balance around flash, because giving blink dagger to Doom or DK is normal but is a disaster for Darius in League. - why are certain class archetypes pigeon-holed into specific lanes? This is just because player want it? Seriously, League's player really want the current laning, they're not as adaptive as Dota's player. Like, if Rubick going mid and destroy someone, Dota's player will just shrug it off. But if a support champion in League going mid and destroy someone, League's player will scream and demand riot to nerf the fk out of that champ. What else can riot do lol? League's player is the culprit in this case imo. TLDR: Everything is a combination of Riot's design being a balance nightmare and them just wanting to stick to their design. Also League's players are not mature enough.

Please hear me out for a second... I'm not saying that winning doesn't feel good because of course it does but the thing is that my best memories of playing Dota were games when both teams played very well and at the of the game everybody was like GG even though we lost. By the way I think that one thing that they should do with Moba games is to get rid of the ranking system so that you can play the game for fucking FUN...

As someone who has played league since season 2, dota more than 15 years and several other competitive games aswell, i must say we nitpick dota very hard, is the most balanced competitive game i've ever seen, even not been perfect is still the only game where i feel anything can work, you can use your creativity and decisions to make a unbalanced matchup into a viable one, picks, bans, strategies, itens, the map, waves, jungle anything can be manipulated in a extreme in-depth manner
