Personally, I think immortal draft has potential to be good, they just need to iron out some issues, not necessarily find entirely new solutions. And in theory, the more awareness there is to the issues Valve need to iron out, the more pressure they'll feel to actually do something, so the video does address that.

Problem with immortal drafts affects all players. I dont really know why author havent explianed it, but basicaly the problem is that actual good players just stop playing when reaching Immortal. Why? Because of all the clusterfuck. I got my Immortal 4 years ago, havent played a single game there(Except calibration) on purpose. Immortal player here. Adding double down to immortal rank queue where party players can end up on opposite teams was a grave mistake. And you cannot know that you have a rat in the team or just an accbuyer until the game ends so you wouldn’t at least rely on them. You cannot kick the player even if you know that he is a rat. Also natures prophet flying to enemy base and dying before the game starts so the game counts is just absurd. People can easily win trade 60+ mmr in 2 minutes which makes reaching immortal draft actually harmful to player experience. And this whole thing just makes you feel depressed because you have no control over situation whatsoever. Deranking so you get out of immortal draft is also shit because you become smurf and ruin experience for other players

I don't like turbo for the reason couriers are uncontrollable and only moves when havin any amount of items in backpack and trasferrin move to owner of that courier, the trollin of using this courier begins when some player disconnects, the other player starts buying the cheapest items from vendors filling the courier backpack and start doing the infinite loop of goin and going back to base to repeat the same process tranfering again and again

I stopped it because of cheating i even reported match id also here on yt there are some matches you would find at Gingo and others but the main issue i had was the drafts and the matchmaking algorithm for example when my communication score was at peak i am able to win atleast 3 games out of five and by winning i mean i am able to win the game in addition to having good team coordination and good teammates but at some point i lost my behavior score and comunication score and not once actually many times over the last year so what i concluded was that with low score i wasn't even able to play a normal match in my legend bracket at that time which translates to that i was loosing 4 out of 5 daily games! Now i am crusader and i stoped playing it i got comunicayion svore 10 on both ends with behavior!

Dota community is very passionate, and it causes most of the toxicity. Valve for sure could be doing a much better job, but if you think about it, every time Valve comes up with a fix, the community finds a way to abuse it. And there is no accountability because any player can just buy a new account. Maybe if the game was $10 then there’d be fewer smurfs, accbuyers and cheaters, but Valve’s business model for Dota doesn’t allow it I guess

So unless everyone playing before the change gets a free copy, loss of players will be greater than loss of abusers, so it will feel worse. And if everyone does get a free copy, it's a payday for account farms. So I don't think just adding a box price will change things for the better. Hardware bans and other ways of punishing people changing accounts can help, however. Problem there is minimizing false positives.

So a couple of things. I am an immortal player but retired. These days has been a disaster for me to play with my friends and people tell me to not throw games or lose games on purpose to derank. It would only cause me to be a "Smurf" to the lower ranks and get my account banned. I don't know if that's true. Anyways let's just say when valve resetted all the ranks I was divine 1. I won 9 games and lost 11 and guess what my rank was. Top 1500. Everything Blitz said was undoubtedly correct. I was lead to believe that being in high ranks means you're good and that was my aim ever since I was herald 1. I only played heros I enjoy and avoid the meta every game. But now I am stuck in immortal and I can't get out of it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to everyone but if you are planning to be an immortal player just forget it. It's not a good idea and I am a prime example

I'm 8k mmr player and for the last half year I played around 100 ranked matches on Europe region. Most of the problems are not as common as they may be seen. For all my games, I never encountered any form of game crashing. Only once I saw party players being picked on different sides, and they just complained about it, but played fair. Mmr difference on lower ranks are not that bad, in most of my games players were within 1000 mmr range relative to each other. And let's be real, the difference between 14k mmr and 11k mmr is not the same as between 5k and 2k. Immortal was introduced to improve search time for high mmr games, since there are great imbalance in terms of roles. Players even started played non-role-based matchmaking just to improve search time. And for the same reason, dodge list is not working there. I mean, the problems exists and should be fixed, but I don't think removing immortal draft or banning party queue will fix them all. I think the problem in barely working report system, when obvious griefer not banned even after few ruined games in a row.

Look at the winning funds in recent years, from 30-40 million, to 2-3 million in the last two years, dota is an infected game these days , in wich the draft is equally infected at any level, because those who own the game, don't really emphasize with the players, but on the business behind it. Party queueing as someone who participates in Immortal Drafts is definitely a problem and a big overlook... Bugs, needless to say, are also inexcusable. HOWEVER The claim that the glicko system + Immortal Draft is a problem is a complete misjudgement Here's why: When you don't have glicko you get MMR inflation. A lot of the Immortals that are rank top 50 vs Immortal 1000's that you claim to be the difference between a crusader and a divine player, is JUST NOT TRUE. These top ranked players that achieved huge mmr numbers have done so before the Glicko system. If you pick 3 crusaders in your team and you face off 3 divines (which is the claim that is the problem with Glicko + Immortal Draft) the winrate of the divines would probably be like 98% or something they have to fall asleep to lose the game and thus it would be mega fair that losing in the crusader's team would lose you like 2 mmr but winning will net you 100 (reflection of the win probabilities). HOWEVER TURNS OUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE RIGHT:D The 'crusaders' end up winning more often than expected in these immortal games. So why? Well ask yourselves, is this a problem of The Immortal Draft concept + The Glicko System which is rigorously used and tested in other competitive games, or is it a problem of the MMR of these pros NOT reflecting the reality of how good they actually are compared to the 'handicapped rank 1000 immortals' Something to think about

A few of the biggest problems that I see with the ranking system, besides the matches being rigged by valve: 1. The usage of the glicko system is a joke and it probably was implemented because people were either lazy or unable to come up with a system. There is no fucking way in hell that a system made to rank CHESS PLAYERS, A 1v1 GAME BETWEEN INTELLIGENT PEOPLE, would work in an online game, which is played 5v5, and don't even get me started on the intelligence levels. 2. The confidence system is implemented backwards. If you/re on a winning or losing streak, the confidence should either stay the same or decrease, but not fucking increase. It should only start increasing when your win rate stabilizes. 3. There are a lot of 3rd parties which can accurately tell the performance of each player, measure who carried, who ruined and so on. If they can do this, why the fuck can't valve do it? I'm fucking tired of the old 'stomp the lane, lose the game'. Wtf am I supposed to do if the other 2 lanes already fed 10 or more kills each? I'm not going to play with those animals. People who perform well should get punished less because their team sucked. People who perform below average while winning should get less mmr than their teammates.

Theres things like strong laners, bad matchups, ect. The best players lose lane all the time its only a small part of winning a game. It would also encourage people playing for their kda and way more selfishly to look better to the stat system. For example, people might hold key buybacks and just lose the game so that they end the game with a higher net worth. there is another problem valve created, i saw it on 2B_doto stream where he saw basically 10-11k mmr games and both teams has bots and they win trade and end game by min 17-19 because valve in their infinite wisdom add to dota+ option to infinitely dodge games and you can have buy double down tokens so immortal draft literally mmr inflated few years at this point, now the only solution that would help is do global reset where you have 10k mmr cap in system, remove double down tokens, add role que as only option to play ranked and you do hard mmr reset above like 5k to toss everyone down because top 1 player on ladder now is like 14k or even closer to 15k is broken

well, 1k vs 5k and rank 1000 vs 100 it is just a completely different story in terms of skill. that bell graph also can be applied to show that the difference is only in a small details 90% of skill is the same. immortal draft was one of the worst ideas since its launch you didnt mention it but theres likely a 50% or higher chance of getting a game of 10 players and NO ONE of them plays a role, for example lets say hard carry, you got a game of 10 people that no one of them is a hard carry player so youre doomed with people frustrated because theyre going to be forced to play a role they didnt want to play at this point just give us a normal match like everybody else where at least everyone could choose and queue with the role they want to play the other downside from high mmr games is that this people know the game better than the average 5k timmy, they know how to grief you and make you lose the game in purpose without looking suspicious and getting away in an overwatch review, for example X guy trying to grief Y, Y is doing the usual farm patterns from point A to point B to point C, what X will do is cut at the middle and farm the other half while Y is farming the other half in this way it doesnt look suspicious for any normal player but this is a huge way to grief somebody in high ranks, this may not look like griefing at lower ranks (happens a lot) but the higher mmr you get the more important it is to be efficient when it comes to farm i dont miss quitting dota since this immortal draft was released, hopefully one day will roll back to the previous way to queue but for now high rank games arent competitive like they used to be, theyre just a clown fiesta today plus mmr is super inflated today so the old 3k and 4k mmrs years ago are at 5k and 6k today which there is not change in skill level but theres just a higher mmr number

All the ranking BS and the behavior score/report system is a waste. DOTA2 has 2 game ruining problems, toxic players and new players. Nothing can be done about toxic players because they will just adapt to whatever remedy the devs add to the game. If Valve charged $0.10 for the game it would deter 99% of new players who only play a few games then realize it's not candy crush or whatever free game they were looking for.

Okay, we have an Immortal rank 1000 matched with an Immortal rank 100, and people cry rivers about it, BUT, the big BUT, what if they limit the MMR range to just about people ranked close to 100, I think players in that rank would rarely be able to play due to the lack of 10 players within that range, how to fix that? can confirm, immortal draft is some of the worse dota matchmaking i played, and i played pre ranking system when you could run into a five man stack as a solo player.

The MMR drafting reminded me of moneyball for some reason but instead of trying to make a better team on paper you make a worst team to to deinflate your value to maximize your winnings and minimize losses.

Reset MMR for good for everyone, completely remove immortal draft and add ranked role q with filling roles, something similar to what LoL is having (for example you que preffered roles 3 and 2 and you get them but every couple of games you have to play pos 4 because they didn’t find any 4s queueing), +ban all smurf accounts (not just pro smurfs accounts) = system will be fixed mostly and games would be normal in high mmr dota In addition, add systems to find and ban cheats like overplus (do not let dota be runnable with other programs, just few, spotify, etc - for example in dota1, which was a map in warcraft 3 frozen throne, if you’d use maphack which was quite popular, after a while your game would crash and nothing would fix it, not even if you turn the hack off, and restart, you had to reinstall the windows)

seasonal rank reset would solve most if not all dota issues. they do have a different skill evaluating system. ranks could be calibrated through it if it makes boosting/smurfing/account buying/abusing pointless gives massive opportunity for good players to rank up without having to offer their souls solves the long q problem less stress regarding rank in general somebody please tell me why wouldn't they do it??

Current system encourages grind, supporting high player counts. Seasonal ranking would make people value mmr less and play less, especially towards the end of the season. Valve wants online to be as high as possible, so there's that Also it doesn't reflect skill as much as permanent rank, because it would be more prone to fluctuations due to your signature hero coming on and off meta and just general winstreaks/losestreaks. Of course, the second point works only if the ranking is fair and there are no abusers, which is false, but nonetheless valve could think that way.

I would say at Divine currently less than 20% of games feel decent. On average there are 2 or 3 account buyers / boosted people in EVERY game. Clueless, feeding, ruining lanes, ruining games, making ridiculous items, having 0 awareness, etc etc. Then you click their profile and see lvl 0 steam account or VAC banned previously and ur like "sure I get it now". Go lower down and it's the opposite, full of 5k+ people stomping beginners. Very Sadge

im 7k mmr in EU and once u get into immortal draft, everything goes to shit. The games are shit, many people are shit. Lots of ppl that throw games because they are party and get picked in diferent teams. Or just to mmr boost with double tokens. I quit playing rank, and i just play pubs either solo or with some friends. Not worth grinding anymore even though i love the game

Picking high MMR players don't guarantee a win, and so does picking low MMR players don't guarantee a loss, therefore picking low MMR players is always the better option because you gain more and lose less.

i just hit immortal recently and have not yet played immortal draft, but i have watched mason and lil nick etc play it and oh my god it looks absolutely horrendous. my games are already bad but this is like actually terrible. they need to fix matchmaking

Classic moment of valve saying "you're complaining? Here's something worse that you cannot refuse, see y'all in 2 years😀". I've been immortal for so long and i've even reached 2.3k rank in EU and now i'm barely lower the 5k, the amount of people that are win-trading, the russians that dont know english and thus cannot communicate, the people that ruin because they're not playing the role they want, and so on are making every game a battlefield to just make your own team play the game normally, let alone coordinate with each other and actually winning the game. There are so many things wrong with the immortal matchmaking system and so many things that can make it just a little bit better that really show how mich valve doesn't care about neither the game or the community that it's just sad that they are one of the biggest game-related company in the world

@@gungrave10 the report and dislike buttons literally don't do anything, it doesn't rrally change the type of players you get, and as for communicating things in game, most of the time i use the voice chat, but the thing is,every person has such a big ego that everything you ask them to do is like insulting them for thinking they're not good enough, when in reality you just want to win the game. Now you're probably like "well then you're prob toxic" and sure, sometimes i get toxic for the amount and graveness of the missplay they make, but when i simply and normally ask for just a pull, they just won't listen and keep ruining the game

i dont mind saying they dont care cos i really want valve to care but... i think its just not true. 95% of games out there have way worse and way less features than dota. the insane replay mechanics that let you analyse every bit of the game. the settings menu that lets you customize things with endless detail. the interfaces that let you look at and test every hero, every item, every ability. this is so unparalleled to any other game on this planet its not even close

@@Alfalfa88888 if you want to put it that way then replays are buggy sometimes, basically every ability doesn't have all the informatioms abouti such as in dota wiki where i usually look up to if i need some .ore detailed info, and this doesn't change the fact that they don't listen to their own community's complaints, otherwise it wouldn't take much to make a feedback window in the settings where people can explain everything that they think should be changed, such as the immortal matchmaking, as blitz explained in the video and as every immortal is talking about

Dota 2 is currently the only Moba i have not managed to to reach high rank because how toxic the community is. And i have 5k hours playing it. I cannot even play with friends because they get angry for stupid things that i stop playing dota for 3 yrs because how absurd it was. I return to play to see if has change in something, but nope, is now even worse. So worse in fact that i don’t play with friends anymore. I just play turbo because i don’t want to spend 40min of suffering. I have made more friend in Mobile Legends than this game, seriously.

That’s why I really don’t complain about my 3k mmr bracket lol, I don’t wait for a whole hour to find a game, and if I dislike a player (I don’t even need to use dota+ avoid feature) just a dislike is usually enough for the matchmaker to find me new teammates, queues no longer than 10 min even then. Sure I get the ocasional jungle LC and the smurf 20-0 enemy invoker, but tbh, it ain’t that bad
