Most frustrating part is they've could've disabled Midas when it was abused on all heroes and simply disable the Techies facet when people started mass abusing it. They didn't. Disabling Midas for a few days or a facet is MILES less damaging than letting the Midas and especially Techies bug ruin hundreds if not thousands of matches.

Yeah it was really stupid of Valve to not really do anything about it. I’m a dev myself and I can assure you that these kind of critical, widespread issues can cause millions of dollars of impact on revenue if they drag on for too long

Only ruined 2 of my games. The problem is overblown i think and i played like 20 games throughout the midas massacre. Since valves stance on bug abuse is not to bad anyone because if its in the game, it can be utilized, if you knew of the bug you either shouldve abused it or not played. Simple as that. Somehow i dodged the abusers for the most part.

Dota at my rank have zero communication (people talking in foreign languages don't count) or it's highly toxic, this midas disaster gave me a reason to stop for now, but yeah valve could easily disable the faulty items and heroes immediately.

you should never get banned for abusing an ingame mechanic (i really mean no scripts or 3rd party software needed) the devs themselves fucked up. there are many examples of unintentional bugs in competitive gaming that became meta and were then left in intentionally because they made everything more interesteing. ofc this isnt a bug like that but still, you shouldnt get banned for abusing hand of midas if you just have to change a few item slots etc. it's valve's fault and if they really cared, just take out the item until its fixed. dont punish people for abusing the ruleset they defined (by accident).

Most of the versions of the Midas bug were beatable because the enemy would just be spending the entire game in the jungle messing with their inventory but the techies version was absolute cancer. I had multiple games where the enemy techies had 40k networth at 20 mins. It was rampant. Valve should give anyone that abused it 500 games in low prio but they wont

Brah even paladins who has literally 0 funds doesn't have the following: bug where quick cast looks like is on but is not. Making the abilities prop on the first target that the mouse hovers over, the keybinds get sometimes reset to nothing and the most annoying one the confirm match bug which I get it at least 1 a day. Where I can't leave a q for more than 30 cuz it will give me a deserter, cuz apparently I was in a q but I didn't get any confirm button.

My man, if you think dota 2 patchs break the gaem you have no idea what happens to the league client every single update. They changed a passive on hero A, than the passive of hero T interacting with Item number 45 while close to a wall breaks the passive of Hero A and it's desabled for the rest of the game.

All accounts that abused this should be permanently banned, but the cleaning lady doesn't have enough time to code an algorithm that finds said players, while also keeping the offices squeaky clean. @@alexm.3968 The devs are at fault for releasing a patch/update that allows players to do that. From an outisde perspective, how is someone supposed to know that isn't intended? That analogy is not at all close to what happened. If you use outside tools to manipulate the game (cheat), then you should get banned, not if you are playing within the limits of the game. If your bank told you that there was a million dollars in your account and you could spend it, and then you go and spend some of it, should you later be thrown in prison when the bank realizes that the million dollars should not have gone to your account?
