This young dpo can’t speak for all dpo’s. The job a dpo does depends on their assignment. Some work in the field more than in the office. Some even work in the schools such as I did a few years ago. There are many different types of caseloads. Both adult and juvenile. If you want to be a dpo in la county you have to work in one of the many probation camps or Dorothy Kirby in city of commerce. It’s a difficult time for dpo’s now as they are being deployed to the juvenile halls involuntarily and getting hurt.

Probation has been keeping me inline. 2 years no violations been going to AA caught up on my payments... until 2 weeks ago I failedfor THC. She told me she didn't know the options of what she would do yet that day. She's new to felony caseload. I'm kind of worried because I don't want to be sent to some treatment center I just had a stressful day and headed co-workers vape pen a few times a couple of days before. 😑. She called me in for a random at the right time though 🤦

Do not underestimate your probation officer you’d be a fool too , if you find a good one then keep her , or him try and make it easier for them with causing less problems as possible be polite and respectful as honest as possible in probation 😮and ……tell them how much of a good job they do

I started probation on January of this year, and ive been honest about my use to my p.o sense the beginning and its now august and shes just NOW getting enforcing me to get treatment. Even though ive been using this entire time ive alwYs checked in every month and been honest & she hasnt even mentioned violating me! Honestly really is key. And communication is also key! ( im on probation for possession of fentanyl/ personal use)

Most probation officers are just trying to put the person on probation back in custody. I was under the belief they are supposed to help the inmate back in society.

The probation officers depicted in the video seem more like court probation officers. In contrast, I serve as a supervision probation officer, which involves conducting home, work, and community visits. I’m actively in the field, working closely with local police, and detaining individuals on probation who have been re-arrested. If I’m ever in court, it’s for a probation violation. I also meet with my probationers weekly, providing them with or connecting them to the resources they need.

He also said I can file a motion with the judge and see an outcome. What usually happenededs when you ask the judge to be off probation early at your half way mark?

Thank you for sharing this with us. My best friend is on my heart tonight. She is undergoing chemotherapy and has been very ill but her worst fear has been hair loss and it is now coming out just like this. I'm doing what I can to support her in all ways, but when it comes to her hair I've helped with scarves and head covers and wig stuff tomorrow. Nope, I guess that's today now. She has decided to get her head shaved and she should be getting her wig. I have even offered to cut mine off in solidarity as we both have very long hair. And she wasn't going to do it. She wasn't going to do chemotherapy. I told her I meant it. I would shave my own hair off with her. I don't even have any teeth. I would truly look a mess but her life is worth more than her hair far more and it's worth more than my appearance too. Any ideas on how to support her through this?

Hey Brittany! If you have a moment to read this and help me out, I’d be so grateful to you with your expertise as a PO. So, I’m on probation, but I’m pretty proactive on knowing my rights and knowing my options. I just did another assessment and for a substance-abuse eval as ordered and this was my second one because my first one turned out like trash and it was just way too much stuff and interfered with my work schedule. So anyways, I found another place that assessed me again and they gave me even worse results lol. Like these people literally want me to do three classes plus as much therapy as they decide I need which I don’t feel comfortable at all doing. Anyways, I expressed my opinion to management and she said she could help me out. I am not sure what that means as she hasn’t told me yet. I told P.O. that I am not happy with this and I’ve been sober for over a year and my life is like not focused on this anymore but now I’m being forced to focus on it with these classes it’s just money making and I know that. Anyways, I got myself into this and I wanna get myself out. I’m just expressing this to kind of show you where I’m at, and so my question is, my probation officer after I expressed my concern he said get what you can do and then we can revisit the rest later? Do po’s have the like power to change your stuff at all?

I thank God my PO is great. We uplift each other with scriptures and peaceful messages. She knows that I want to be done with this. I stay in touch with her all the time. She told me that I'm the only one who stays in touch with her without her looking for me. I want to be as transparent with her as I can.

I have implants hate them I have diep surgery on Dec 11 th I'm so nervous.

I was violated for my CS not being completed, it’s not due till sept 3rd. I’ve done most of the hours but with my work schedule it’s hard to complete. What do you think the outcome would be?

Thanks for making this video! I wish I had seen it, when I was on probation. I really thought that PO was there to try to put me in jail, the whole year I was waiting for my PO to be assigned. I walked in there and saw the “Community Corrections,” sign and thought, mmm…hmm. It’s just a nice way of saying it’s a cop sitting in that office, about to interrogate me. What I ended up with is someone who listened to me about what led up to my getting in trouble, and gave me a lot of referrals to help me solve the problems. He said he was sorry I wasn’t able to get help sooner. 😅. Thank you for trying to ease people’s fears. Unless people are not taking probation seriously, they usually don’t have much to worry about.

I'm looking at 1yr of misdemeanor probation for petty theft nothing drug related will they drug test me for that? does it matter if it is a drug-related charge? my court date is in 20 days I guess I will stop smoking green now it's ok I need to quit for my spiritual growth I am too old for jail. lastly, do they watch you piss??
