All the years of being joked on for being single and childless, (i'm mid/late 20s) have actually been a blessing because I can make more informed decisions about my lifestyle. I can become the wife and mother to the right person having delayed these critical milestones a few years late than most. Also want to share that my education placed me in so many privileged rooms with all sorts of folks and so I knew at least by the middle of my undergraduate career that I likely would marry someone from a different race. Like you say, it truly is about playing the numbers game. A man is a man, and which groups of men provide benefits that outweigh the costs is most important. A low-stress life due to partnering with someone who has integrity, who is committed to responsibility, marriage, & who has a strong work ethic will always be my non-negotiables. I know I bring the same, and so compatibility seems more realistic when all the options are presented to us.
