I recently got a Russian tortoise, and I’ve had him for almost 2 weeks. He has a heat lamp, a hide, and a water bowl. He won’t eat, and he’s usually sleeping. It’s really concerning. His stool is a pale yellow color, and really runny. I’m just so confused, so if ANYBODY has any suggestions or any videos I can turn to, please leave a comment!!!

I give it those little vitamin thing you give tortoises, but it’s still the size of my hand a little bigger than it. I brought it to the vet. They say it looks normal and healthy. The only thing that I can think of is the person I bought it from but the egg too close to the incubator light, and the shelves a little, but the person said that that wouldn’t affect the growth

For the heat lamp and heat mat bit, why are heat mats not recommended? For my tortoise, we have brought both a heat lamp and a heat mat for it but mainly because we have an extremely cold house

Nice video. The species poster didn't differentiate between Western Hermann's Tortoise and an Eastern Hermann's. Westerns come from the South of France, Spain and Italy, whereas Easterns, which I have one of, come from North Macedonia, Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria. There is even a disputed sub-species called the Dalmatian Hermann Tortoise. Thanks for the video 👍

My hermann totoise will not stay in his box or under his light ? He sleeps on the rug i cover it over him.?if in the box he judt constantly scratches often falling over . Feel its safer to just let him have run of lounge. When cold he goes sits by the radiator. He hates his box it has space and a uv light. Just hates it. When it was hot he was out side lots but colder now. He very determined about whete he wants to he . His name is el torro (the bull) he pushes anything he can out his way. We adore him xx

Tortoise not eating or walking legs are floppy and weak took to the vet and given an X-ray and told has bad constipation and they soak it in warm water and it poop a lot but now it’s home and they told me to continue to soak in warm water and give turtle vitamins for a week it ate once last week a few bites of romaine and that’s it it has not walk for months vet said it lost muscle mass
