What camera do you record these studio sessions on? Quality/color grading seems lower than GHPC or other "in the field" pods on this channel.

the tourist signs thing reminds me of Kauai, there are signs everywhere saying don't face away from the ocean, beware of rip tides, etc.. My ex-wife was wondering why there were so many signs saying all this not thinking that not everyone is from the PNW as she was born and raised in western Oregon and grew up knowing all these things being that we have access to the Pacific Ocean! I had to point out that to her and an example presented itself to her the next day when we went on a cat sail trip around the north side of the Island and there was a German family on board lol.

Real people watch and care about real people. I don't care about 1000 hp undriveable cars, i care about other people's passions. If that happens to be a 1,000 hp smoke machine then cool. True passion speaks and is undeniable.

Was fortunate to meet Brian a few months ago for a collaboration video between our company and him when we delivered him his new Kubota tractor. Really cool dude and just a fun guy to be around with some great stories. As someone who grew up in San Francisco, t was fun to pick his brain on his insane urban Playground video in SF. Good luck Brian!

This entire episode illuminated every issue I've ever had with Hoonigan and confirmed their culture vulture status. Scotto admitted so many things I had suspected including Ken wanting to do the same thing with Hoonigan that he did with DC shoes meaning they had planned to sell the brand all along. Hoonigan was just a 13 year long cash grab where Ken and Scotto built a automotive lifestyle brand with the intent to sell that brand's cult like following to highest bidder. They contributed way less than they took from the automotive community.

I think you miss interpreted what he was saying. The original goal was to build an automotive brand that could stand on its own in five years time to a point where both Ken and Scotto could only focus on the creative side and less on the management side. At the end of the day, it is, was, and always will be a brand. But you need to build it up to a strong point for the culture to strive around it, and that’s exactly what they did. I’m convinced that every venture Ken went on, he was passionate about it to the highest degree. The talent, the energy and the passion was there, you can’t fake that. The guy was an amazing businessman that happened to love clothing, cars and extreme sports…don’t we all?

Crazy to me to think that the thing I always wanted to happen (You guys doing some sort of collaboration with hoonigan) was well after the company basically restructured and everyone who made up hoonigan left.

MCM pre-dates Roadkill and Motortrend content. Roadkill had great production value from the start because of monetary assistance from KZbin. (KZbin helped several channels to elevate the value of the content available on the platform.)

Maaannnnn, that Donk was so cool and hearing the backstory about it is excellent, as is the rest of it! But that donk build was so fucking important tto me at the time too because it was so unique and interesting. I'd worked in VA in the late aughts, and saw donks, lowriders, and then stretched literbikes and stuff out there all the time... I was a sportbike guy at the time, had a '99 ZR-7 and then a '08 R6 that I bought new in VA. The Donk's episodes linked those memories with the relief the episodes provided during lockdown and after.

Man it’s sad looking bad to what hoonigan was and to see what it is today. I use to be such a huge fan, I could watch everyone one on there and have a great time watching, now I can’t stand it. I can’t stand the people, I can’t stand the content, it’s just not the same anymore.
