I know you guys aren't short of ideas but... 1. A kers system turbo. When you brake it engages a generator that powers a compressor that pressurises a small tank that you can use to accelerate later on. 2. The fastest electric cars have a motor per wheel, so make a gokart with a small (50cc?) engine on each wheel. You could probably even get skid steering with it!

01:10:35 The theory of thirds. 1/3 of an engine's power is actually turned into usable rotational energy. 1/3 of its potential energy is lost through the cooling system and fluid friction. And 1/3 is expelled through the exhaust

fascinating chat, and really applies to all forms of creative life. edwin is basically describing what its like to have moderate ADHD. my wife was recently diagnosed and my son is being assessed with it looking fairly likely, and so many of his behaviours were exactly like mine at the same age, ive never been diagnosed, and not really bothered about being so. but it does explain why i am how i am. i've been a graphic designer for 20 years, but probably should have been in a workshop building things, as my brain has always found it easier to make things physically rather than on screen or even drawn. but finding solutions and problem solving is as easy to me as breathing, the ideas just come without having to really think, happening somewhere in my subconscious and im happy for it to be that way. most creative people are neuro diverse to some extent, and its also why we'll be hard to replace by AI, we're unpredictable and solutions we come up with not always logical 👍

So I had to go back and check. They are using a 200cc single cylinder Lifan engine. It's like 16hp with a 5speed box. And relatively cheap on ebay

If ya'll want to get into tuning your small engine projects with fuel injection, look at the Microsquirt standalone from Megasquirt. Assembled and all ready to go they are like $300-400 and they are easy to set up and tune. I have one on my 85 RX7 and it works way better than stock.

on the topic of turboing a single cylinder and having spaced exhaust pulses, I wonder if it's possible to put a loop in the exhaust and connect it to itself by an X-pipe join, with the loop at just the right length that the pulse gets around in half a combustion cycle, so your turbo would effectively "feel like" it's getting the exhaust flow of a parallel twin.

I once "sprayed" a gokart engine with an "oxy-acetylene" torch nozzle. It didnt last. You can either scatter that motor by putting it under a heavy load at its maximum torque RPM range OR you can blow it up by sheer excessive RPM. ....or like you said, feed the turbo hot side with 3 or 4 engines, and feed the cold side into 1 engine😂

Maybe put gunpowder into the engine while it is running on the rev limiter. Warped perception made a video doing that. He tryed to blow up a flat head lawnmower engine over the course of several videos. And was unsuccsessful with a turbo and several other things he did to it. Trying this he blew the see through head he had on it to pices, but for some reason he didnt try with the normal aluminum head. I think there is potential here to have things ejecting out of the crankcase. The explosion looked quite powerful. The electric motor spinning sendys supercharger also sounds promissing and add the wet nitros system to this aswell.
@mostlymotorized Жыл бұрын
All jokes aside, nitrous is an accelerant. And what you described with building a box around a carburetor and pressurizing it, then spraying it with a flammable liquid and an accelerant is literally creating a bomb. Ignition timing for an engine is set to ignite Fuel and air which has a large quantity of non-accelerant (nitrogen). Valve timing and ignition timing for a standard engine is not for nitrous. What will happen is the flame will ignite too soon in the cylinder and it will chase back through the intake valve and blow the top off your engine. Its not something to play with. Edwin likes looking up KZbin videos, look up nitrous backfire it is very real and very common. Even nitrous (and fuel vapor) leftover in an intake when you go to turn the engine over and start it can explode

In my experience, small engines destroy the block around the crank and piston rather long before they throw the rod. I have seen it happen before, but that was an assembly mistake.

I'm this weird amalgamation of all of your creative processes. I can see things instantly, but not know how to do it. I can know how to do it, but not see it. And, I have ideas that never let go... at least you all create. My struggle is doing something about it. It's overwhelming most of the time. I end up half finishing things because another idea smacks me in the face
