That is so sick. I would totally wear that to a game.
@BamboozlenoodleКүн бұрын
Can I make a suggestion? Your weathering is really nice but it feels too 'calculated' in it's placement. It looks patchy and almost like a repeating pattern. Try to randomize and show restraint in some spots, it will bring it to a better level. Keep up the good work.

Looks really good, and i like the idea of doing the physical scuff before the metal coat. The only thing i would point out is that especially from certain angles, the scratches/chips look like theyre clumped in a less than organic way. Definitely going to add some of these ideas to my bucket though🫡

Only things I would have done differently is knock down the chrome on the clamp a bit and do the emitter weathering over the finish it came with (the emitter finish is meant to resemble to Inconell material of the original part) but overall looks great. I was a little skeptical of the truck bed liner but it really worked better than I expected

8:11 what are you doing here with the dust you’re creating with the blade?
@brungerbuilds3 күн бұрын
It's pastel chalk. Mixing it with matte Mod Podge allows you to get various dusty textures while weathering. If you build up the chalk a lot you can make it look really gunky, and if you go light with the application, it's more like fine dust.
@rayalexjrКүн бұрын

You delivered again, excellent work, personally this helmet isn't my favorite from you, just because I don't live in the US, but the paintjob is really amazing! Also one thing, the "scratching with 60 grid sandpaper" at the end feels a bit out of place on the top of the dome, but regardless awesome as always.
@brungerbuilds4 күн бұрын
Yeah I tend to agree with you on the sandpaper scratch on the dome. It was one of those situations where I initially slipped and just had to make the best of it 😅 Thanks for watching!

I switched to Krylon Matt white. Drys quick, you can tape after 6 or so hours without residue. Primer I use Seymour filler primer. It’s automotive grade but only about $13 a can. Quick dry as well. Amazon sells it.

That paint is the worst. I made the switch to Krylon. That’s all I used back in the day. But the locals switched to Rustoleum. But if you make the switch you have to switch it all. You can’t mix. You will get webs. They dry at different rates and their shrink rates are different.
@brungerbuilds12 күн бұрын
Hmmm bought a few cans of white krylon but haven’t tried them out yet. It’ll web even if the previous layers are totally dry? Sounds like a nightmare 😅

Absolutely incredible job as always. What decides which helmet are you going to do every week? Or you just get inspired by something you seen or is it planned out?
@brungerbuilds13 күн бұрын
Good question! I usually try to plan a couple weeks out, but I always end up flying by the seat of my pants as I begin to run out of planned projects haha. This one in particular was super random, but I knew I wanted to jump on it ASAP so I pushed it forward in the build queue. At the end of the day my main bottle neck is having time to actually sit and plan and then how fast my printers can print 😅

1:26 What’s going on here? Some kind of sanding dust sucker rig?
@brungerbuilds13 күн бұрын
Yessir! Just a cardboard box rigged up with an inline duct fan and hvac filter. There’s a slit in the top of the “catching” area to allow the floating dust to be sucked into the filter while the larger chunks just drop into the lower portion where I can empty whenever I need.

I've found rustoleum white paint in general really finnicky to spray and dry slowly, but their black paints are really nice
@brungerbuilds13 күн бұрын
Seriously 😅 What do you use instead?
@lolwut24113 күн бұрын
@@brungerbuilds Same as you I'm still using what I have left😆, I really like how smooth the matte white and gloss go on but they run so easily and just touching them with a dirty finger within 24 hours can leave a nice fingerprint. I've been using MTN/Montana spray cans for other colours and I've experimented a little with white, they can go on a little rougher but dry to the touch really fast, cans are cheap too. When I painted a shoretrooper with Montana Sahara Beige I had to wet and dry with 2000g sand paper to get it smooth but the end result was still good. Funnily enough the Montana matte black for me comes out really smoothly and nicely just like the Rustoleum.
