I added the remote start to my car like you showed in the video thanks! But how do I actually remote start my car? Do I need a separate key that has the remote start function?

are u good with forscan was wondering if u can walk me thru a few mods getting my lights to work on door opening 2018 expl utility...also getting lights to work on locking and horn to sound and reprogramming a fob...have no problem paying u will probably take an hour or so I have forscan downloaded and waiting on fob be ready next week if u can thanks

Your videos are very helpful, I am about to do a full interior swap. I bought a whole wrecked civilian explorer so I have all i need and more. Question for you, have you done or seen the 3rd row with power folds swapped into the PIU? I didn't realize that my donor car had that feature and not sure how that will work. I can skip the 3rd row if it wont work but would be nice to do it.

I was able to enable factory remote-start on my 2013 Interceptor Sedan. Only needed to add the hood safety switch (harness was available to plug into). With Forescan you change some codes, as well. Using a factory remote you hit, "Lock - 2x button", and it starts.

2015 PIS. This might sound crazy but I want to have your dome lights be controlled by the doors opening / sync up with the rest of the interior lights. (I’m not really bothered if I don’t have manual control I guess) So my question is: since you removed the headliner where does the cable harness end up at for the front light. I assume I could just re splice it in to whatever circuit that does the rest of the lights with a fuse tap or in line fuse. So any advice on that matter? Else I’ll just buy the double so my +1 can actually see in the rear seats of mine. Manual only control isn’t a great solution to my problem in this case.

Question: If most of the jumpers are on the 3rd plug can't you just jump across the pins on the terminal itself? I'm guessing that would work, though maybe a little more work to locate/confirm pins are correct. I finished the wiring and everything works BUT the rear seat-height, D'oh!!! I must have screwed-up ONE wire. I must say, some of those wires are VERY hard to see. Drive-able for now, will have to fix once weather's better. Thank you for all your work and sharing this video!

Wow, really glad I found your video! I initially installed the Passenger seat (2013 Interceptor using same year Electric Taurus seats) and was really happy it worked without any issues or modifications, true "Plug-and-Play". Moving onto the Driver-Side, I wasn't expecting any issues having come off that "that was easy!" success on the Passenger-Side. Time to pull that seat back out and run the jumpers. Too cold out in Illinois to tackle this outdoors, unfortunately. Thanks again, YOU THE MAN!

can you upgrade the screen to aftermarket apple carplay on the 2020 and up

First off, great channel with very detailed information. Thank you for your dedication lol. I have noticed in my 2015 FPIU, occasionally when driving down the road it will switch into “L” on the indicator and RPMs shoot up. After putting the vehicle into park it resets and sometimes just tapping the shifter it will just go back into “D”. Do you think it’s the column shifter or the transmission being the issue? I think my water pump is going out and the repair is going to be $2500 and that will cover timing chain too. But I'm considering just putting a different engine in if its at a similar cost. Actually thinking about a crown Vic p71 version engine. I just wonder if it will fit.

Hey so I've recently got a 2018 PIS and the vehicle did not seem to have an ACM module. I've installed one but it doesn't activate the radio. Is that something I will need to activate in ForScan? And if so, how? Cause I don't have many options otherwise

Forscan no longer recommend these types of leads anymore, better to get a Forscan recommended automatic switching one to avoid any problems. The forscan recommended automatic leads only cost a little bit more money

Is there an option for auto lock and unlock when in drive or park?

I currently have a 2015 XLT and instead of either the 4WD selector I have a coin holder. Would I need a special trim piece or?

I watched this and your Forscan intro video and had a question. I have a 2015 PIU and in Forscan, the remote keyless option entry was enabled, but the remote key fob learn option above it is not there. After I enabled remote keyless entry, I went back and noticed there is a PAT programming option now available. I have one of the 4 button keys I got from Amazon like the one you have with the square blade key and can enter programming mode with the 8x off/on and I get the clicks telling me it goes into programming mode, but nothing happens when I press the buttons. I disabled TPMS due to dead sensor batteries and I can confirm dark car mode is disabled. Do I need to get a different key fob? Do i have PAT?

i put the center console in my 17 xlt and it has the inverter for outlets but i noticed my console outlet doesnt work...is there a seperate harness that runs back to the inverter? or is it a outlet issue?

Been watching you videos for a while now and hopefully you may be able to help. My evap Purge valve has failed now for the second time what would cause this to happen? What goes to the purge valve maybe it is causing issues. Great videos by the way

Worked like a charm. For some reason my alarm went off the first time I was playing with locking/unlocking the doors but that may be an issue with that remote

2013 interceptor here. Got the remote start enabled thru forscan. Had to install the hood switch. Don't see any options on the info screen or settings for remote start and adjustments. Currently it does run for 10mins before the car shuts down. So I'm happy for this. Few questions though. Starts fine and the key take over is good. But I've noticed pressing the brake pedal prior to a key take over is not killing the engine? Would that be possibly more as a "security feature" and if I don't have a security module installed it won't kill the engine under this condition? Also, I can't seem to kill the engine from the remote after a remote start has been initiated. Thoughts? Edit: remember watching one of your other videos describing the brake pedal switch and how they get stuck. Not that mine is stuck, but you described the color of the aftermarket being blue vs. OEM black and gray. Took a look at the switch and it's blue. So I'm thinking aftermarket.....that being said it may not have double switches inside. One for brake lights and the other being for cruise control (maybe also remote start shutdown?). Have looked up the pedal switch wiring for this online and the diagram shows 2 switches internally. Maybe this aftermarket lacks a second switch? Thinking this because of a 1st gen Prius cruise control addon project years ago required the brake switch replacement because the OEM had only 1 switch inside when a 2nd internal switch was needed to disengage cruise while on the road.

Can you explain how program the key 2019 police interceptor?

I did an interior swap on my 19. The driver seat from my donor vehicle has 2 bus connectors where my interceptor has 1 and I have no function. Any help to get this to function would be appreciated.

The actual video rambles on and on about wiring and tape coverings, and custom made doo dah's for sale but when it comes to the "HOW TO" of R&Ring the console, all we get is "there are a few clips here and there, takes 3 minute each side, pretty much self-explanatory...blah blah blah. WELL, if it is SO damn self explanatory, what were you doing through out the whole video? This is just some kid in love with his car and decided to leave his phone camera on too long. There was a write error when I change the as built code for locking confirmation with horn. When I go back, the values did change to 1 and I still don’t have horn when double pressing, I even changed it in BCM. 2019 ford explorer and dark car is disabled

You can also add into that switch panel a factory police idle which allows you to remove the key with the engine still on 2017 and newer will need IDS to activate it tho and the part number HB5Z - 13D730 - AA

I just bought a 2018 Ford Explorer Interceptor. Which console fits it? Now that I have removed the metal one that it has.

Looking to do a Sync 1 4 inch to a Sync 3 swap. Wish me luck. Looks like a massive pain and very $$$. Considering the 4DTech kit just so I don’t have to worry about it. But I will say those China special devices look pretty great for ~$300.

I have an issue with mine, keeps saying lift gate ajar. bought a new switch for the back still same issue. attempted to jump the wires together in the back same issue... i think it has something to do with that button you showed but mine is all removed by the PD before auction. any thoughts?
