We cannot know for certain. I think it could be similar to Tolkien's case and never have an official or finished series of A Song of Ice and Fire. Similarly, his editors would just gather all the drafts, letters and Martin's intentions to finish the last two books and other ASOIAF related stories with the best possible interpretation. Also without having to invent too much of unfinished plot lines.

The least the dude could do is take his health seriously and lose 150 pounds. That way he has a better shot of living longer and finishing the books. And it literally helps him live longer so there’s no excuse not to do it.

@Valaritas Please read to the end, this is for you. I purposefully avoided seeing this sequel because of the things I heard about it. "It's not the 'real' joker", "Harley and Joker's roles are reversed", "It's a musical", etc. For the last 15 years (minimum) I've watched an industry progressively ruin, rehash, and destroy pretty much everything my father brought me up on. Star Wars was ruined. Marvel comics were ruined. Marvel movies were ruined. The Matrix was ruined. The list goes on and on, and it's broken out of the movie industry into video games, political parties, education, pretty much anything capable of telling a story or communicating a value. I assumed this was just yet another snot rocket ejected upon the collective mythos of my upbringing and stayed away. Thank you for helping me understand what the film actually did. Thank you for your detail and care, the analysis and the awareness to say something "different" without simply attempting to be contrarian. I thoroughly appreciated your work and will likely be binging your content over the course of the next week. Thank. You.

The whole "relationship" between Rhaenyra and Mysaria is unearned. Why would Rhaenyra suddenly trust this woman above her own son? I know that Mysaria warned Rhaenyra of her life being in danger but that shouldn't make Rhaenyra wanna trust her above Jace and Corlys and shove her tongue down the other woman's throat. Also, let's not forget that she was in Otto's pocket a few weeks ago (in-universe). She has a habit of flip-flopping. God, Rhaenyra is so f**king stupid. These writers aren't pros. They're glorified bad fanfic writers.

How do they even do that? My God, season 1 was good, it had a good build up. And then, boom, season 2. 💀

I mean even if you think Rhaenyra would be equally as bad as Aegon at ruling. Rhaenyra winning still does something very important. At least women could be in power. Chances are laws could be put in place to protect the rights of women more. Even if it's not perfectly equal, I still think Rhaenyra's side is more likely to do this than Aegon's side. Remember, the greens literally let Rhaenyra's son be the ruler over Aegon's daughter. 😂😂😂 Rhaenyra losing just spelled more excuses to deter women from getting in power for generations. And that attitude just worsened the rights of women in general after that. Danaerys symbolises the return of the feminine power and magic in the world that the society had snuffed out.

I personally understand this perspective of destroying the first movie and all. I just wished, they would’ve done it with a bit more chaos to start with. What I mean is, unleash the chaos first, then slowly destroy it. Tie in the musical numbers for the internal conflict of Joker and Arthur, to give emotional depth. Mix in all the parts, court, guards, Harley but; just don’t downgrade the whole character arc of the first movie initially. It should’ve been a switch in the movie. A turning point in the movie where, as people expect the Joker to be fully unleash into chaos, that’s when the idea stays strong but, Arthur starts to crumble. That’s when Arthur should’ve tried to just be captured, trial, and he should’ve tried to destroy the Joker himself but, rather cannot escape from it. Until his fate is doomed by the judicial system and ‘Joker’ dies in Arthur, who could’ve been like relieved off the burden and Harley and other supporters distancing from Arthur. And Arthur just crumbles fully, maybe even dies, with the someone else taking on the Joker idea, independently. Not causing Arthur’s end with one bad joke. Todd Phillips just got scared of pushing the story forward in my opinion. Due to ‘potential inspiration’ for bad things. Or just didn’t actually wanted to continue the story forward at all. It’s just too much of a subversion of expectation for most fans, which is why it is hated. I feel like this is similar to Star Wars sequel trilogy’s Force Awakens following it up with Last Jedi. Force Awakens started a potential with positive reactions and story. Last Jedi just basically kills it all off, undoes most of the potential. Joker is a good film with message and good character study, Joker: Folie a Duex is the Anti-Joker movie. The sequel is literally an antithesis of its predecessor.

0:01 With finishing the series off the table, there's only one path that can salvage the series: He writes an outline for how he wants the story to go, and then hands it off to another writer of his choosing. It's hard to say whether the ideal way that goes is that he writes an extremely detailed outline that lessens the chosen writer's decision-making, or he writes a vague outline and let's the new writer run wild. That depends on what really has been stopping him from finishing the series. Either way, he needs to choose the writer himself. Editors very rarely choose the right people to finish or continue existing series. The worst case scenario is that he doesn't leave any useful notes or outlines and the series never comes to an end. He would show respect and appreciation to his audience by setting up a system that keeps that from happening. Heck, it would have been a better service to his fans to have handed the torch off earlier instead of teasing a release date that will never come.

I reject the idea that “people are reading less now than they ever have”. Whatever you might think of it, GOT and BookTok have pretty much revived modern reading for the general public.

if the Prophesies are fake how does he see visions Himself of the future? You are right about one thing the system created him to be who he his. Nice review but I think you have totally downplayed the prophesies. Chani was Desert spring if the Prophesies aren't real why was she able to wake him with her tears?.

Thank you for the analysis, it was interesting to listen 😊 really well structured I also have an opinion, like everybody else here 😅 I think the only thing Otto did really wrong was advising Viserys to make Rhaenyra the heir. I mean he knew the king would remarry and have more children soon, and he even planned to marry the king to his own daughter. Surely, Otto was afraid of Daemon taking the throne and he did everything he could to disenherit Daemon, but still this move brought too many problems that he surely could foretold. Ofc Otto couldn't know that Aegon was about to be born, so he acted accordingly. Though i still think it was a high possibility and Otto rushed with that advice and created more global problems

There is an undefined religious tone to Paul Atreides cooked into his genetics by the Bene Gesserit to bring forth the Kwisatz Haderach. Lady Jessica gave birth to a boy instead of a girl, which was not part of the genetic plan. Instead we have Paul moving to Arrakis (Dune) where he is saturated by the chemical called spice. It enhances the level of genetic manipulation and Paul develops superhuman abilities to see the past, now, and future events. He also develops superhuman strength and reflexes. He’s not God nor Jesus but close to being the one to bring order to the Universe. Someone who can fight for the righteous in humanity. However, after he defeated the known Emperor Shaddam, he has to defeated several worlds that would have otherwise attacked him on Arrakis. In the process he becomes harsh and heavy handed in is jihad. It’s only after his twins are born does he give up power and retreat as a nomad to the deep southern desserts. He knew what happened to him and the need for him to disappear. His threat to the universe would only be attained if he travelled down the golden path. In the book, Chani is 100% behind Paul and if she had lived, would have disappeared (probably off-world) with him. They would have taken their children and left. But, as we know from the books, Chani dies soon after giving birth. Without her, he literally couldn’t see by using his supernatural powers. Paul was not a perfect god but a good leader of men. He knew that if he were to continue that he would have to become a “God Emperor) and that was just too much for him to tackle. It is actually what made him a good person.

SOOO tell me what is revenge and Justice? Will you be wrong to hunt down the man who killed your father destroyed your generational wealth??? People die because the Governance fails to uphold the laws it caters to, which is Justice. The Freman always lived under oppression ,death is better than such life, servitude to an unjust system/entity. JUSTICE IS WHAT KEEPS SOCIETY SAFE AND HARMONIOUS.

I like what you said about how some writers (I actually think many are like this) can't wait to start a new story and struggle to continue/finish the one they are working on. I think it is refreshing and a good palate cleanser, you're not stuck after possibly having written yourself into a corner, which he admits to have done before. It just takes discipline to not do that.

It's really hard to write a book in general, but everyone also has really hard expectations from winds of winter. I can imagine that it isn't easy to work under all this pressure. I write just for me, and after 3 months, I have just one chapter and a prologue. What I try to say is, leave this man alone.

Actually, the evidence is that the human pathological result is usually a mix of nature and nurture but also that - some people are simply 'bad code' and there is little that society, social engineering, no matter how well intentioned (and through bad research misinformed) can do about it. The hubris of would be social engineers (particularly the "Elites ideas") has more bodies piled higher and wider than all of Homelander's exploits!

The conundrum is more like "Do the ends justify the means?" However, if we were to accept your thesis then we could equally apply it to the current behaviours and objectives of environmentalists going to extremes regarding climate change - those willing to sacrifice the prosperity and even the lives of the current for a hypothetical 'safer and better future' for ('fewer') people in the future...
