Hi there Chris,after rewatching this vlog for probably the 9th or 10th time and now you've fished Aspen for a few years,what do you think would be your best baiting tactic( in winter) knowing that the carp stock is relatively low and possibly spodding isn't the one. Thank you.

Unlucky on the fish loss not a fan of the Ronnie rig limited use I have used it I’ve suffered lost fish and hooks dropping out in the net!! Typically the wind we needed in November came in hard and fast! At least you managed to finish your session 👍🏻

Shame about the lost one but it happens and just move on really, fair play for being so cheerful getting woken up only to find out you were soaked through and told to pack up aswell . I been peppered with shot too mate at Float Fish Farm, near Peterborough, and just like you say..... no warnings whatsoever, all of a sudden around 30 shots that were absolutely deafening then followed up by raining shot by at least 10 of the shots, all over the bivvy and in trees and into Lapwing Lake, I had the common sense to stay in the bivvy, but I remember being so furious I almost called the police. needless to say blanked as well. they are ignorant thug bastards that need a quick compliance check from the police. thanks for the video mate, its tough winter carping. look forward to next video.

😂 bloody hell you made a big fuss of that. Wish I had a pound everytime I'd been peppered by shot I'd be a happy boy. Cotswolds have lots of duck shoots and some clubs/syndicates have shooting on them which has never been a problem. All guns will swing through to get on a bird now and again and that means the shot might fall in the wrong direction. Many lakes, mine included have a cull of Canada and cormorant which is legal with a licence. You given warning so you can move off the lake or stay and perhaps get peppered. Asked the beater nicely you might have got a duck for supper 😊

I fish a lake that has a shooting season that has clearly defined rules but people on both sides bend times to be on the lake that could cause harm or injury! Rules are there to protect both parties!!! Shame you didn’t catch and looks like you probably had an aborted take near the end 🤔 the weather for the majority of November was strange and definitely affected the fishes feeding habits good vlog 👍🏻

Thats fkd! You need to report it to the police. I had a massive tear up with some shooters at an essex day ticket once, shot was repeatedly whistling past us from a shoot on the woods behind, there was kids fishing the same bank....and a load of blokes that did fk all and bottled it. There was a police helicopter over within 3 minutes and a bunch of armed response soon after. That fkd their shoot up.

Hi Chris given Aspen is a hard lake to start with then factor in an algae bloom and its even harder this time off year especially when its cold you were always goig to be up against it. Im glad nothing worse happened due to that duck shoot i do hope the police did something although i doubt it probably just a slap on the wrist. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend

Fishing in France is tough. The lakes are hard fished, and anglers tend to overbait. Especially if their struggling, when they then usually fill it in towards the end of the week. Consequently, there is often piles of unbeaten bait all over the lake, as you arrive. For me, you just have to keep doing the right things on a lake like this. The owner tells you the spots, the bait, the rig, and you just duly abide.

Well done on your PB,s whilst the numbers of fish caught were low they were quality can't always catch everyday but that's French fishing wouldn't let one week put you off the fishery!
