I had the 11inch Air (2014, 4Gb) as my main machine and I came from Windows. I was never more happy. I would advice anyone who is using either of these machines , to never look pass Mojave, its just the most stable and lightweight OS. Plus you get dark mode. Install a modern browser, like Orion, and you are good to go. Office works fine. Lightweight editors like VS code , can also run well.

I recently (just last week) got the MBA 11inch with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD and I gotta say I am loving it! Sure it's not as "sexy" as the MB 12 inch with the big bezzles and all, but you eventually get used to the screen and it won't be bothersome - the price is also another factor - MBA 11 inches are far cheaper compared to the 2015/2016 MB models by around $200 (at least where I live). Also for those who commented on the MBA 11 inch having a poorer screen resolution, while yes the MBA 11 inch does not have Retina Display specs, once again, you get used to it and its not a big deal (I have a MB Air 2021 which has retina display so I do know the difference!) as you will be more satisfied with the portability aspects of the MBA. I can't comment on the performance of the MBA 4 GB model (which is more common on the used market) but for the 8GB version, its really a mini workhorse in its own right. For a netbook, its really able to punch above its weight at everyday tasks - remarkable for a decade old machine! Finally, with regards to gaming, I don't do heavy gaming on it (Its a MBA afterall, and macs generally aren't great for gaming to begin with). I have installed Windows (via bootcamp) since I have a whopping 512GB HDD space and I do play more older simpler games (e.g. Football Manager 2014 etc.) and its able to run pretty well, albeit with some background noise from the machine's fan. But other than that, its a nifty little device! The MBA is also able to take on GEForceNow cloud gaming with relative ease (GFN is my preferred way for gaming these days!) so no issues there as well! Glad to see from this video I made the right choice with the MBA model as I was having abit of buyer's remose soon after my purchase where I felt whether I should have gotten the MB 12 inch instead! Glad this video cleared "the air"for me!

@Chris3s
@Chris3s Жыл бұрын
3060ti is much better for gaming, will be enough VRAM for at least 3 more years. 3060 12GB can be usefull if you want to generate or upscale images to much larger sizes. so if you are just a hobbyist and also don't plan to use AI text generators like chatGPT on your PC, then 8GB will be enough and you will get better performance with the 3060TI

you'd need to run 3 instances of stable diffusion at once. you could use 3 python environments to give each one their own install. i don't think you can pool resources in stable diffusion, it's possible in theory but it's probably very complex to program. sure someone will do it some day.

What features should the CPU have? I'm looking for something affordable. And does it take longer with more prompts? I want to generate anime-style images with 20 steps, 7 cgf, 512x512 (or768). I'm satisfied as long as it takes less than 20 seconds per image. I haven't decided on the RTX yet
@theSato
@theSato Жыл бұрын
The CPU isn't important really. The GPU does almost entirely everything for this. Something like an i5 (10th gen onward) is more than sufficient, or comparable AMD card (e.g. 5600x onward). If "20 seconds per image" is your requirement, then a 3060 is plenty sufficient. On a 3070, at 512x512 20 steps, the image is done in about 3 seconds. (Once everything is loaded into VRAM and the generation actually begins occurring).

Yeah it has to use 3D pipelines to draw/create frames and that's right about where the M2 gets smoked. Just doesn't have that amount of horsepower. However with the way and rate they are improving Apple may just create a smoking hot powerful M3 CPU.

They seem to have a little more detail than the Koss but again, not remotely worth 10x the money Koss are my saviours. The material doesn’t matter, so long as it is open cell (air can pass through) all that matters is the depth. For room treatment 6” deep panels spaces 2” off the wall for a total of 8”. Anything thinner will not absorb low frequencies.
