So you bought an electric truck, drove 7k miles, then wanted to get rid of it because: 1. Public charging isn't easy 2. It was expensive 3. And you aren't sure that it's capable of doing truck things because you didn't try. All while making videos of complaining about the use, just to turn around and say you might buy another one. Sounds like electric vehicles aren't for your lifestyle.

What you listed appeared to be issues not related to the vehicle or its performance. The frustration with the app is 100% understandable. But the charging stations being small? Besides the App not working, which is understandable, the other issues sound like most issues a drivers have when moving to an EV, not this one specific. But this was YOUR experience and that's why I watched the video.

Holy Cow!! You need to START OVER with your reviews!! WHY ARE YOU USING TESLA CHARGING STATIONS FOR YOUR TRUCK!!?? THERE ARE TONS OF OPTIONS AND LOCATIONS FOR OTHER SYSTEMS AND I'VE ONLY JUST STARTED USING THEM!! Stop bagging on the "charging n apps" and GET URSELF EDUCATED!!

DUDE!! For a guy who's owned a Tesla you're a BONEHEAD about Electric Vehicles!! I've got the 2023 Lightning and COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!! I bought aftermarket charger and had installed in 5 days!! I use THAT app NOT Ford and NEVER have problems!! GO SOLAR AND CHARGE WHENEVER YOU WANT?? NO WORRIES ABOUT RATES!!! You're a unprepared pissy boy who shouldn't have bought a truck he's not ready for😢😢 OF COURSE YOU USE MORE JUICE GOING "UP THE MOUNTAIN"!! YOU USE MORE GAS GOING UP AS WELL!!😮 Charging stations are easily mapped out and only on occasion have i had failure to charge but I'm learning the network... Sell it n go back to $4.50/gas... I've saved $3,000 already!! OUT!!

It just seems like this guy was unhappy with the price he paid. He keeps saying “for what I paid” over and over. An as an owner of this truck I can say yes the sticker is expensive. However the overall price is lower. Outside of the battery drain when hauling. This is a great truck to own

I would have too much range anxiety. Governments are trying to get rid of natural gas to consumers for bs reasons. They’re planning on using the cheap natural gas to power electric plants for all the electric everything. It will end up hurting us all. We will not have a choice, be servants of the utility companies.

I'm guessing you live in California. Because only Californians can acknowledge their mistakes but then double down on them. EVs are a scam. The most important thing about owning an EV is to not put too many miles on it so you can trade it back in for a gas vehicle.

These comments are insane and you can tell most people have never even thought about an EV. Most people aren't driving 200 miles every day. Your daily driving can be replenished in an hour or 2 when you get home for pennies. Driving an EV I'm very rarely thinking about needing to charge
@JettersGarage7 күн бұрын
At least here it's not pennies. It's more like equal or close to the cost of gas for electricity where I am in CA. Crazy.

I saw a model X with free supercharging for life for only $44k and it had 120k miles on it. They said they didnt know how to transfer the free supercharging, how do you go about that? I commute 70 miles one way to work and its all highway so im really looking for the best option here
@JettersGarage10 күн бұрын
As long as it's sc01 when they transfer ownership of the vehicle then it will automatically go with it.

I am getting 322 miles on a charge, never saw a gas station I didn't pass right by, and the one pedal driving means I can basically drive almost forever. The nay sayers are mainly working for the oil industry. They also talk like the never ran out of gas in their life. No parts, no breakdowns, no gas, no oil, no oil changes, no carb, no muffler, no fumes, no stolen credit cards at the pump, no broken planet, no more being the problem.

Great content I’ve been considering purchasing an E truck but the anxiety of dealing w charging is my biggest concern. I know as time passes they’ll get more of these issues corrected so I think I’ll wait and keep my gas vehicle a few more years.
@nonchalanto19 күн бұрын
It’s crazy that you purchased this truck without doing even a little bit of research into setting up home charging (which did not require ford’s unit), looking at fast charging opportunities near you, etc. And for many people, it doesn’t make sense based on the options available to them. So they shouldn’t buy an EV. You just pulled the trigger without even thinking about those things? Crazy. I have an EV, and I installed a home charger before I took delivery. I have never once thought about where I need to “refuel”. It’s plugged in every night and never comes close to draining. For me, it’s way BETTER than a gas car. For others, it isn’t quite that simple. You should have figured this out before you spent 100k

Ive had my lightning for about 10 months, I live in Minnesota, had it in very cold weather, towed about 6,000 pounds and have had no issues. People cry about long distance driving, its not meant for that. Its not for poor people, I fly long distance. Never thought id buy an EV, but this truck is incredible

So you regret your purchase because you can't charge at home? Then you don't like the Ford Charger. Then you admit you have a Tesla charger which you could have used to charge your truck. This is a cry for attention, nothing more.

I own a tesla, my friend just got an F150 and your comments are SPOT ON. The app is terrible. I asked my friend to check how fast his truck was charging off my home charger and he had to go through the clunky app. The truck itself is nice and has some cool things like 110 and 240v plugs I would have liked on my tesla BUT the software/UI is no where near tesla. Heck the F150 lighting doesn't even record like dash cam off all its cameras?!?!?! you have to buy a seperate dash cam. its silly the oversight. Tesla designed their cars so much more thoughtfully from a software standpoint. with Ford access to some superchargers hopefully the charging issue gets to be a less of an issue. The other thing that should be mentioned as a negative is having to deal with the FORD DEALERSHIPS! we looked at an F150 as a 2nd vehicle but the dealer wanted to add on all these extra fees.... no thanks.

I’ve had a 23 lariat for a month now. I got the charge station pro and charge at home. I don’t see the case of anyone buying one without a level 2 charger at home. My first road trip is in a month and through a stretch of mountain highway. Cali has pretty good network of charging stations, but I’ve heard bad experiences

II feel ya bro! The electric vehicle infrastructure in the US is a joke. Like you mentioned, if you have a Tesla you in good shape because of good chargers and dependable app. If you have anything else your dang near screwed due to scarcety of dependable chargers. The US needs to get it together and throw up more charging stations (with good chargers) and build more electric plants to keep up with the grid demand if EV's are supposed to be the vehicles of the future

I just recently made the switch from a GMC Sierra to an F150 Lightning. I’m a truck guy through and through and I can honestly say, I love it. The ride is amazing for a truck, the range is decent and the frunk is a game changer. This comment is coming a year after this video was made so things have changed significantly. The Tesla charging network mates it really easy to charge ABS is not as bad as I thought it would be. The fact of the matter is, you need to be ok with the shortcomings of electric vehicles if you’re going to make the switch.
