Legends they brought AFL to WA Freo would not be around if eagles didn't win 92 94 Premiership

I’m no eagles fan but I watched most of these games that season with my late Grandad (even went to two games with him) this team was unbelievably good, deserved more than the one flag they got

Got to love the bias of Victorian commentators,( except for the legend Dennis Commetti). Ablett and numerous other Geelong players elbow west coast players in the head, they say nothing. Wilson fair front on hip and shoulder, commentators say he needs to stop carrying on with silly stuff. Lol worst thing hasn't changed much in 32 years. Up the eagles, we will be champs again.

fascinating to see the crowd were intrigued but not vocal or otherwise physically demonstrative as they soon became at Eagles matches. Presumably this was because the Eagles were an oddity and people's loyalties still lay with their WAFL teams - thats how I remember it at least.

Dumbest thing Ablett did was take Pyke out. Woosha made him piss for the rest of the game.

Great performance by the west coast eagles. They were basically the west Australian state of origin team minus a few players. Still they had to win in Melbourne and they did. Too many passengers for Geelong. The Geelond sides 2007 and onwards were made of sterner stuff even if they maybe didn't have the individual brilliance of the early 90s side.

This day was magic for me. It was the first time I went to a GF with mates instead of family. As a hawk supporter GFs were pretty common. Out at Waverly it was always going to favour the Hawks but but going down five goals with Sumich kicking goals early it was looking grim. I was sitting right next to the WC cheer squad and prepared for a long day watching them celebrate. Thankfully it was them watching me (I wonder how many of them wanted to strangle me)

Ashley McIntoshs ability to know exactly when to run off his forward was unmatched. Second to none, absolutely genius and created an extra man on the half back. Its always dangerous but he knew when to do it
