For obvious reasons, I cant help but to think that this was originally meant for the Pointer Sisters. 😂 Actually, after digging up some info, it looks like this song and the Pointer Sister's "Jump" had the same songwriters and producers on both songs! Lol I KNEW it!!!

I really like the unique rhythm of this song. I don't remember any other song that might've had this beat. It also has the particular tom tom sound of early 80s drum sets that often had hexagonal pads, Casio and Roland made quite a few models of those drum sets back in the day. This song, "Don't waste your time" and "I'm ready to jam" are 3 of my favourites from Yarbrough and Peoples.
