So what’s the next step to fix all the shortcomings identified in the video? I suggest creating a to do list and prioritize it.

The folks in the clubs and running the clubs do so because they want to have a nice place to fly. They are not in it to be ambassadors to the hobby or run a training school. I don't blame them at all for what they do or don't do. On the AMA... too much about Nat's and other competitions that are highly unlikely to draw someone into the hobby. Someone is going to have to really, really love the hobby to clear all the hurdles and rules before they learn to crash their first plane.

I’m 77 and flown rc for 60 years. Enjoyed every minute of it. Cheaper than a bass boat and fishing or golf and a hell of lot more fun.

I will be renewing my AMA membership when it expires next year. I live in a big and congested city where there's no safe place to fly except for me to drive to an AMA field. The rules for my field is that even though I don't have to be a club member, I need an AMA membership. To be honest, I've been to the field to fly every week for the past 4 yrs and nobody's ever asked to see my AMA membership. However, I currently own 10 planes and I don't want this field to go away at least until I die.

The AMA can Kiss the STINKYEST part of my crack! The AMA was supposed to be helping the hobby and by extention the hobbyst. I feel like they dropped the ball big time while "protecting us and the hobby" during the FAA part 107 transponder discussions. Also every AMA (2 in the greater SO Cal area) club field I've visited has some ASS Hat there gate keeping. Telling me BLA, BLAH, you cant do this, you must do that. What do you fly?!
