When I was growing up in Saint Kitts I used to love listening to Jam Band, especially this album. Memories!

Milo and my Daddy were good friends! Daddy was his #1 fan. When Daddy left STT and relocated to Brooklyn he would pick up Milo @ the airport from the 1970s whenever the band had a NYC gig. Daddy would always attend Milo’s Dances in the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem. Daddy used to love seeing VI ppl lineup IN THE SNOW outside the ballroom to get in. No matter the weather Milo always had jam packed events in NYC! We would jam with Milo & Ira Meyers on Easter Pkwy every Labor Day with Daddy and my Uncles when we were kids in the 70s. Man those were the days!!! We even jam with Eli Matt & the GI Brass too!! Daddy’s fav Milo Jam was Fatty Shake Dem Up! My Dad was Rico Canton and he was a baseball pitcher from Buckhole. His Mother was Miss Yantie Sprauve. I miss all a dem!!! 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮

Much respect to Julian Jackson, but he probably was a super middleweight in this fight so the same thing he got when he fought Gerald McClellan he got the same fate. It is what it is. I ain’t mad at him for making the weight, but it is what it is.

Raw power in their fists . This fight is like a mini gatti v ward. The shots there landing on each other are remarkable, to say the least. After mcclellan got hit low, he knew he had to get jackson out of there . Could have taken the 5 min, but declined and instead got up and tko'd him instead . If the ref didn't stop it when he did jackson be rendered unconscious.

Norris retired Sugar Ray Leonard. Julian put them hammers on him.

Norris fought Leonard after this fight. I was told that Leonard wanted to come out of retirement and fight the winner of this fight. He fought the loser which was Norris.

When I was I kid, I used to call Julian Jackson hands of steel! But he did love the "Hawk" moniker! I remember at one point in his career, Julian Jackson was 29-0 with 27 KOs!!! Flipping crazy!! And after losing to McCallum, Jackson went on a 17 win streak with 16 KOs!! His record stood at 46-1 with 43 KO's!! Just amazing during his prime!

8:39 ; I believe that uppercut from Jackson changed the dynamic of the fight. Norris becomes far more wary and hesitant after this exchange.
@tom-l8o9u Жыл бұрын
This raised my respect for Mike McCallum ten-fold. When he felt the power of Jackson`s punches instead of backing off he did the opposite; he took the fight to Julian toe to toe and took him out. Marvelous Marvin is the only other fighter who I believe was capable of doing the same. I know, of course, that McClellan KO`d Julian. But he had to box and wait for his chance. Mike & Marvin are the ONLY fighters who were capable of standing their ground and trading with JJ.
@tom-l8o9u Жыл бұрын
Jackson`s punches were so powerful that even if they landed on an opponents arms they instilled fear and apprehension. I`m astonished that Norris was able to climb off the canvass before the count of ten.
