Hallow points are like the 5.56 heavily velocity dependent. If you’re not running +P or a full size, 4 inch barrel and above don’t run anything heavier than 115 gr. If you’re running a barrel length less than 4 inches don’t use anything heavier than 124 gr +P. If you go with 135 gr or 147 gr it must be +P and a full size handgun. The heavier the bullet the hotter it needs to be loaded in order to reach ideal velocity for peak performance expansion. This is why barrel length is critical. If you don’t get the expansion it might as well be a FMJ. When it comes to manufacture in the FBI’s testing they determine that Hornady Critical Duty135 gr +P out performed the rest this is with their requirement that it be able to stay in tact after specific barrier penetration. If you’re running a compact then 124 gr +P is ideal. If you’re not looking for barrier penetration IE car glass go with Critical Defense. Spear Gold dot and Federal HST’s are also a good second choice. The other brands are known not to have reliable expansion. Second fire a couple boxes of your choice through you handgun to make sure it feeds properly. Not really a issue these days unless it’s .45 acp

You should roll the light up and tuck it in so your right side is slick, no barrel shadow, and you wire management would be much cleaner. Also if you want to activate the push button you can roll your support hand in and activate it with your thumb

I personally like Redhead for my jeans, cheap-ish pants but comfortable, I say they’re like a wrangler-ish pant but better…? I like the classic fit, they’re a 61-38-1 blend I believe. Coming up on a year with them and so far they are amazing, if you take care of them in a similar way like denim should be they’ll last awhile.

Totally agree that I want my own stuff that is familiar to me and the proper tools to keep hardware up to snuff. Fantastic topic. Clothing choice is not discussed enough in the CCW world. People new to carrying could benefit tremendously from our experiences with different kinds of pants or hacks we've come up with.

The way I see it, the big guys with the money push out the little guys with no money. Some of the best testers are long gone. Thanks to KZbin algorithm. The only big YTer I trust are Hickok45 and his son John and the late Paul Harrell and now his brother Roy.

Duluth and Ariat work pants that have the flex/stretch fit, are great everyday pants. They actually flex and give all day.
