Heres my edc: Glock 43x mos- $440 Holosun 407k- $200 Streamlight Tlr7sub-$140 1000 rds of fmj-$240 100 rds of HP carry rounds- $120 Now that "cheap" Glock aint so cheap! I think this video is a great reminder that guns are expensive but its worth it to budget for quality and extra parts besides the gun itself.

The Glock 43X MOS, Holosun Optic, with a TLR Streamlight combo is such a solid setup. I run the TLR-6 HL because I want my carry setup to be as minimal as possible. I also swapped the factory iron sights with the Night Fision Costa Ludus night sights.

Lol great point, especially on ammo. plus even if you skip the gun accessories a newbie is looking at a 70-120$ belt, 70-150$ holster, sized up pants for IWB, eye & ear pro, carry case, most likely a range membership & ccl class fee, and a bunch of other unseens that someone getting into concealed looking at a $400 9mm wouldn’t have any idea to think about they’ll be spending 1k+ for sure

This is so true. I don’t know how much I have spent on building my prefect gun just to buy another gun and do it all over again. I just picked. Up a Cz shadow 2 compact ( not a cheap gun to start with) and what I want to do to it is going to cost almost as much as the gun itself.

my first firearm is a CZ P10C. got it for $500. I put a Surefire X300 for like $300ish. Slapped a Holosun 407C for like $250ish. Got 3 extra OEM mags for around $35 a piece. I shot around 750ish rounds of 115gr. So yea I'm well over $1000.

My first purchase was my Canik Elite SC for $430 plus the $180 at the time Cyelee Cat Pro X (used a code from 704 tactical), and then $120 for a Baldr S Mini. Put over 2000 rounds since I had her. So all in all well over $1000 on one firearm, and since I bought six more pistols lol.

Nothing wrong with a $1,000 AR15 set up but I'm waaaaaay past $1,000 ARs. $1,000 might cover my optic set up and that's a BIG might. Can someone get a reliable, red dot only AR15? Yes. That's not me though. I personally find value in nicer gear and kit. Don't even get me on suppressors either. $1,000 for a pistol set up is reasonable but still hard to accomplish. $500 for a RMR/SRO, $250 for a X300T-B, $100+ for a holster, $100+ for 2-4 extra magazines, $50-$100 for a mag extensions (definitely optional but that's my choice) and that's $1,000 before the actual cost of the firearm. $1,000 will get you 2,000 rounds of 115 FMJs and 500 rounds of decent JHPs. Add maybe an optic plate, trigger and the firearm and you're looking at $3,000 for the pistol set up, the 2,500 rounds of ammo, the 5-6 magazines you need and a decent holster. This lifestyle is expensive. Cheaper than cars but still expensive.

I like the point you make about the finish on the PSA’s. It’s a SORELY overlooked element in picking a firearm. I’ve noticed a lot of PSA receivers don’t match up in terms of finish and it’ll be that “PSA lower Aero upper” build that makes you realize just how much better a finish other companies apply to their guns. Might be a little OCD but it matters to me. I also hate when PSA puts their logo on the upper receiver 🤮

Even a budget psa rifle builds you end up needing/ wanting a sling a light ammo obviously and an optic. For Carry gun I go holster, sometimes belt, light, range ammo and carry ammo…i kinda hate that I agree but yea it all comes down to atleast 1000 if you want a complete build.

I agree to a certain extent with the 1000 dollar mark. I don't use a light on my EDC (Canik MC9) because I live in a major city that has plenty of light at night. I can't have a threaded barrel because of state regulations. I also didn't replace my stock trigger. So I got my MC9 for around 440 after tax and my optic for around 275. My holster was roughly 80 bucks. I keep plenty of ammo so I didn't need to buy more. So for EDC I'm at $795. Where I completely agree with the 1000 dollars is my home defense weapon (Springfield Echelon). I have a light, mag well, and optic which pushed me well passed the 1000 mark.

I would check in on that can. I'd be pissed... weapon light on everything ..... pistol need break in periods. Find out what carry ammo shoots the best out of the specific pistol. Surefire x300/XC1..... love those

4:46 regarding the light, I understand having it on a home defense pistol but not on a carry. If you’re getting carjacked/robbed at night within 7 yards, are you really going to use your light when the streets are already well lit? The only people that need lights are people who chase after threats at night, such as a police officer. As a civilian, when you start chasing after a threat that’s when it’s no longer self-defense

You’ll EASILY spend 1000 on a “budget” gun.

Yep bring out a thousand, I was considering in trading in my 2 Caniks for a different pistol , but when I figured out that I have about a grand invested per pistol and maybe I will only get about 800 for both that’s about a 1,200 dollar loss . Plus you forgot to mention extra magazines, I like to have a minimum of 5 magazines per gun I own.

I agree with you on some things but 1. Holsters should not be 100 bucks or more( they are taking advantage) , there is no innovation, and truthfully no matter what brand you get they are not comfortable and pretty much all the same. People will lie and say that they carry x holster and it's the most comfortable thing in the world, or they put it on and forget about it and it's simply not true lol. 2. I'm with you on PSA and out of all my guns my compact dagger provides me the best grip and I'm surgical with that ish. But I too fall to consumerism and internet bravado and carry my glock 19 or x macro because of it. The QC can be hit or miss with PSA but when they work its great.

Realistic AF! I feel like EDC setup is at least $1500. I hit the 1K mark with the firearm, belt, holster. No extra holsters, no light, no optic, no ammo. I run a P365 XMacro Comp, T1C Axis Elite, and Mr. Belt himself: Hunter Constantine.

I love your videos, but I don't think you should include the cost of ammo in your total, except for 100 rounds of defensive ammo to run through the new pistol. One would most likely be taking a gun to the range regardless and using ball ammo.

I always recommend running both just to make sure you don’t have a stinker lol and with the price of ammo it’s definitely an expense.
