We don’t work with the D7, but can introduce you to competent professionals that do. I’m not sure what you mean by a guarantee - AIMA is responsible for the GV issuance, not the party receiving investment/donation. You’ll need to make sure it’s covered in any contracts you sign (as we do in ours).

I’m not sure why you feel the need to put such comments on my KZbin page rather than speaking to me directly if anything remains unclear. As I have told you during our face-to-face interactions, we do not handle the funds. Therefore, we cannot “run away” with them. You would sign agreements with both us and the investment provider as part of the 2-3 months required for setup that would formalise the deal prior to any funds being sent, in the same way that you would for any large purchase. Nomad Gate is mostly peer-to-peer content and therefore backward-looking. The timelines stated in the video are now generally accepted as the realistic expectation for new applicants given the changes to local policy and resourcing seen since the end of last year.

No. 3 months of setup before the application is submitted (tax numbers, bank account, document prep, making the investment). Biometrics takes a while longer, although timelines are now coming down. Hi Kelly, thanks for your comment. You are quite right that any GV applicants looking to transition to citizenship should be looking to demonstrate ties to the country. Our lawyers work with our clients to do just that, during the 5 years prior to the citizenship application. This can involve activities such as joining clubs linked to Portuguese culture, for example. We do a full review of this with our clients during our onboarding process.

@@jonathanralphcitizenship I figured you would cover it with clients, since you mentioned sufficient ties in your video. Many others do not, and their omission of that huge detail comes off as intentionally misleading. "Go where you're treated best" comes to mind!

This is actually a concern. How exactly can you 'prove' sufficient ties ?

Portugalist cites the ordinance that states those over 60 "who also cannot read or write" are exempt from the language test. Not everyone over 60 is exempt. The language test is a requirement only for citizenship, not for the Visa. Also, A2 is a pretty easy level to reach, especially if one has five years to do so.

@@FrozenSkyy Kelly is correct; being over 60 does not exempt you from the language requirement. If an applicant is having difficulty with the CIPLE test, it may be worth pursuing the language course alternative.

However, this is a welcome consequence of the Golden Visa legislation changes introduced in October 2023, which have been well-publicized. We also obtained formal confirmation from some of Portugal's top legal firms to that effect, which naturally I will not be publishing here. Yes, the closure has been proposed. It is not yet law. We anticipate being able to process applications for a little longer, as Spain does not have a history of moving quickly with such legislation, but it might be wise to advance any plans now to avoid disappointment.

Best to speak to your immigration attorney directly on that one (for the heritage, perhaps not so much the water squirting!)
