Acuña gonna have to learn to play first base and stop running, play some DH too. Or he could get another injury and have to retire

We talk about some guys and how the defensive grades may be a little off or value someone’s defense not quite enough or whatever but we can’t point out that Julio, who is a NIGHTMARE at tracking balls and judging balls and look like he’s flailing uncontrollably as he goes after balls, he has a GG level rated defense???? That’s insane. He makes some decent plays. He makes a TON of bad ones. That rating is wrong. Watch his LOWlights for a second. Overrated

Idk Bobby brings more to the table than Judge, he’s not old and big and injury prone. The WAR was extremely close. It seems like we just give it to the highest WAR guy now automatically. It’s no different than when we gave Porcello the Cy Young because of wins. Maybe WAR is the best metric we have so far but it shouldn’t be the only thing we base our decisions on
@peterharris640913 сағат бұрын
Baseball reference has Wheeler at 6.1 WAR. Dudes incredible. He will be 35 next year but he’s probably got at least 2 or 3 more really high end years

0.5 hr/9 for Webb is a really good number too. Especially for how much he pitches. Pitches more than most, gives up fewer homers than most

Rewatching this 3 year later as there's a deep drive into left field by Castellanos and that will make this a 4-0 ballgame as I realize that the A's had 3 different pitchers enter 75+ games in 2019.

Hot sauce guy chiming in to say that, while your effort to calculate a Scovilles+ rating to adjust for different spice environments is admirable, unfortunately the underlying data is about as good as fielding stats from the 1960s. While Zuzu 7 Pot is a far tastier sauce than Mad Dog 357, it is also almost certainly not as spicy. Mad Dog uses 'sticky stuff' (capsaicin extract) to bring heat far hotter than natural sauces can achieve. Brings me no pleasure to say this as a Giants fan, but I do believe that a deeper analysis with accurate scoville numbers may reveal Rizzo's performance to be one of the greatest in Hot Ones history in pure wSHU+ terms. As for who I'd like to see go on the show, my pick is Logan Webb, because he follows me on twitter (suggesting either an interest in hot sauce or just being a cool dude)

When you moved the Astros, you probably didn't generate a new schedule. You needed to. Also, you want to do this no later than the Winter Meetings.

The American League have WEAKER pitching 🤣🤣 All these players with better numbers in the AL is just a result of bad pitching. the NL is simply superior in 2024. Go watch the 2024 playoffs. If you have eyes, you would know that. There's a reason why the NL DH won the MVP ... look at this how man Runs is scored ... not just drove in ... He made the team better by getting on base, not just hit homers. Ohtani got all these numbers DESPITE LAD having a bunch of minor league players for a good chunk of the regular season. Go watch the lineup in July/August This channel is a JOKE

I was curious when you said this was Freddie's worst season as a Dodger and that's obviously true because his last 2 seasons were his highest fWAR seasons...but he also has not had under 4.4 fWAR in a non covid season since 2015! Remarkable consistency

78 pitches is bonkers, but not even close to the astonishing record of Boston Braves pitcher Red Barrett. Against the Cincinnati Reds on August 10, 1944 he threw just 58 pitches. He allowed only 2 hits and no runs in a game which took just an hour and 15 minutes. The Braves won 2-0. Barrett was a 12-year journeyman with a career record of 69-69 and an ERA of 3.45, but for one game he was a superstar who set an all but unbreakable record. The next closest game for which there are records was by Slim Sallee on September 21, 1919. He needed only 66 pitches to defeat the Brooklyn Robins 3-1. On August 29, 1990, Bob Tewksbury threw a 75-pitch complete game for the Cardinals against the Cincinnati Reds. The fewest pitches in a no-hitter was by Cleveland Indians pitcher Dick Bosman on July 19, 1974 who no-hit the two-time defending world champion Oakland A’s in a 4-0 victory in 79 pitches. Bosman ruined his own perfect game with a throwing error. It's believed to be the only time a pitcher spoiled his own perfect game with a fielding error.
