Glad you were able to get the part and get off the trail. That was gnarly. It's definitely a reminder to stop when we get hung up and reassess. Not all, but a vast majority of broken components I've seen with other people off-roading is either going full send or just continuing to smash the throttle until sometime breaks. In this case it wasn't an impact that did it, but drivetrain forces. The driveshaft was definitely hung up and stuck and it ripped itself apart. Just a fluke occurrence. In that instance, with it completely lodged in there, I don't even think a steel driveshaft would have survived. 😬 It's definitely going to be more dent resistant to impacts though. 😁 The intimidator looked crazy. Doesn't look like much room between life and death ha. Not sure a full size truck is fitting through there. Cool video. Looked like fun other than the broken truck.

One of the early things I bought was the GMPP steel drive shaft. As I started watching your channel, with every new video I saw, I was thinking, " Damn, that guy is wheeling pretty hard and with 35s with no issues; maybe I wasted my money." I finally switched from a Wrangler to a Colorado. I had watched many of your videos before hand. I took my first little test run wheeling trip into the desert, up some steep hills and something happened that reminded me of your experience in this video. A sort of power loss. Coming from a Wrangler, i know it's capable but honestly the Chevy v6 is better on the hp/torque. I don't think that has to do with it. I was figuring out and learning about off road mode with the zr2 and i think that power loss might be something deliberate within the system. I had never experienced that in my JK even without lockers. I was in a sort of steep climb, not aired down at all, and i experienced what felt like power loss or a power delivery restraint even when i laid down the throttle. When reading later it seems like it might be computer decision in the vehicle. Question is do you wheel with traction or stability control off? I think that stuff needs to turn off to fully control the vehicle. At least like i was used to in my Jeep. From what i read there's like different traction control modes? I haven't played with it enough. But this video was my first thought and i wonder if you've figured it out since then?
@OrrinLewis
@OrrinLewis 17 күн бұрын
@@tyleryork6071 so two things. Making sure my air filter is clean and then putting the transmission in manual mode where you control the gear it’s in. I’ve noticed that in 4lo it will not down shift when it needs to and will stay in to high of a gear for the speed and steepness of the slope that you’re in. I would recommend keeping an eye on the gears yourself instead of relying on the vehicle to do it. I haven’t had an issue since. I only do this when I’m on steep inclines other wise I will leave it in automatic. Let me know if that helps

You should be using the 22v dc plug as much as possible it is way more efficient than running the inverter on your power supply.

Very beautiful video, All holes are speculation holes, Typically white lines led to gold. But there was a lot of guessing and a lot of scam artists selling claims to stupid east coasters. The mine industry in the west is still scamming investors today, as IDARADO has been subject of investigation. There are plenty of good mining books and jeep books that have a cornucopia of information, Ace in Ouray has a few. Stop in the hot springs around town. As of late interlopers have been destroying my state by leaving trash all over the trails. If we continue this way they will all start to close just like Utah!! Stay on trail and leave no trace! There are very powerful left wing coalitions trying to close all of these trails, be respectful, carry some rubber gloves and trash bags with you and clean up as you go. Every time I ride the alpine loop on my dirt bike, I come back with a 30l bag of trash. To the dipshits leaving your shit tickets everywhere, If I catch you, I carry a can of good stuff expanding foam and will be happy to fix the problem of you relieving yourself on the trail and leaving your toilet paper 💩 🧻 everywhere 😉 great video, always set the parking brake and use a rock. You don’t want to be like all of the people on black bear

Thank you sir! The mining history is super interesting for sure! Def want to be care takers of this beautiful place. But at the same time I won’t cower to these left groups who view humans as pests to the earth and want to tell us we can’t enjoy the beauty in our own back yard. Closing these trails down is clicking the easy button. Awareness and positive action but the majority of people who care is the right answer. There will always be a minority of people who will continue to do the wrong thing. But that doesn’t mean some group gets to change the laws and ruin it for all of us.

@@OrrinLewis Look what SUWA has done in UT, that was like 6 very well connected people (president of the board in Golden, CO) who defeated 100,000 off roaders, we need to stay vigilant and spread the word to keep these very very well funded coalitions off our trails. Sign the petitions, make sure these trails are available for your grandchildren to enjoy. They only care about the one person doing something wrong. They don’t care about the 10,000 doing it right.
