If you don't like the kick sounds in drumcomputer its easy to to use kick 2 or punchbox (or a samplepack of rumble kicks) for you kicks and use drumcomputer for interesting percussion etc which is what it excels at IMHO.

"I really enjoy watching your videos because I also produce with the iPad. I have a big problem with OCTANE and wanted to ask if others are experiencing the same issue. Beatmaker 3 and other music programs no longer recognize OCTANE. It simply can't be selected anymore. Do you know anything about this? I would really appreciate a response."

I've tried the FlexVerb since it's included in the Complete bundle. It's good, like the added compressor and EQ. However I like my LX480 dual engine V4 better. It's got routing capabilities to mix the 2 distinct reverbs in ways I've not found elsewhere. My favorite method is D16 Group Repeater into the LX480. Or with Soundtoys Echoboy. I've not used the CLA Waves reverb.

Relab sounds mix ready, the cla is a mess and the ssl is just another reverb with ilok which is not very good

Very good! Is Erik Satie, one of the last songs you showed, part of the curriculum? I couldn’t find it under songs. I just started (44) and your progress is inspiring! Only one week in and me and my wife learned sooo much!

SSL is murky and undefined. CLA is inexcusably bad, and Relab is nice and proper reverby.

Still making music? Just found your simply piano video and then watched a bunch of others. We’re interested in a lot of the same stuff. I have an older iPad and I’m thinking about just getting a new Mac mini M2 to run with my Roland keyboard

I'm 25 and dabbled in piano a bit growing up but just by ear. NEVER thought I could sight read. But I started practicing with this app recently and honestly it really helps!! I think getting to practice playing along with music just makes it more fun. Very nice progress!! 👏

Great review many thanks, I use Ravenscroft among others [ including a Yamaha C2 grande - real wire and wood 😊] , intrigued by this PP for the reasons you state. Regardless I prefer the timbre tone production of your analogue cats more than than all the options you present. Please provide the link to download them.

I just started simply piano. I thought it would only have you learn very artificially. Like the app does the actual playing. But it actually does a good job letting you practice as much as you need to to actually learn the lesson. I am having a much easier time learning chords as I simply go through each lesson as often as I need to, not necessarily get 100% as my piano isn’t perfectly tuned and I “miss notes” that I actually get. But the point for me is to gain the muscle memory. When I feel burned out I call it a day. And it is remarkable how seemingly easy it is the following day. I have been practicing 30 minutes first thing in the morning and 30+ minutes in the evening so I can take advantage of sleep learning on both ends.

Thanks for the video, its very helpful :) Is there a way to fix the issue with LEDs not displaying the correct colour from LK's clips? You said in the video that not all the colours match up. But since you can change the colours of the clips in LK, is there perhaps a way to get at least some colours "matching"? In LK i like to give each track its own colour. Would that be represented (albeit in a wrong colour) on the Launchpad? In the video the colours of the clips in LK and on the LP seem completely random. Sorry for this silly question, but i have looked online for days, and i cant seem to find the answer! Cheers!

How much time daily did you practice with the App? I am similar to you (in my 40’s) and starting as a beginner piano player. I got familiar with knowing/naming the keys and learning some triad chords, but want to learn more, so- just got the Simply Piano App. I am hoping to be able to spend a couple hours a day practicing.

I’ve been playing a lot with DC lately, I find it a really inspiring and playful app, like most sugarbytes stuff, with always their kind of weird sauce on top of it. Who needs another 808 or the like ? But it’s true that the kicks are quite frustrating. Enter your video and already things are better. Thanx a lot, it was just what I was looking for :)

it's not just about the practising hours, it's more about the learning hours where u figure out the keys, the fingering and rythm. If you're able to come up with 2-3 hours a week of actual learning, you can move ahead faster than the guy in the video. good luck
