oh that's cool, didn't know its possible to connect it to the iPad 👍 I love the Pro MK3, the built in sequencer is brilliant

It is! I feel the two are really made for each other :), and since it‘s pretty popular more devs are jumping on board. Just now I‘m uploading a new video about Atom 2, a piano roll app that has full LP Pro support.

Thanks for the video, its very helpful :) Is there a way to fix the issue with LEDs not displaying the correct colour from LK's clips? You said in the video that not all the colours match up. But since you can change the colours of the clips in LK, is there perhaps a way to get at least some colours "matching"? In LK i like to give each track its own colour. Would that be represented (albeit in a wrong colour) on the Launchpad? In the video the colours of the clips in LK and on the LP seem completely random. Sorry for this silly question, but i have looked online for days, and i cant seem to find the answer! Cheers!

Absolutely, I upgraded the setup a little since then and now I have the iPad as a brain Launchpad & Launchkey for controlling and very recently a Cobalt 8X hardware synth. It's perfect for making music, you really hardly have to touch the iPad if you don't want to.

Great job. I got the LaunchpadX as it was over 3x price in Australia for the pro and i couldn’t justify it... looks very cool though and I’m jealous.

Great video! I’ve heard iOS really has no control surface concept, whereas MacOS has extensive midi device handling. It all depends on the apps and since Novation owns Ampify, Launchpad, Blocs-Wave seem to work. Theres no Novation Components app for iOS either, so no way to create custom layouts, CC and midi note assignments. I love my Launchpad X, I just wish there was more support for iOS.
@FlorianRachor13 жыл бұрын
Actually it's pretty much the same between MacOS and iOS. If an app can use the "session" mode depends on the app. Session mode get's initialized by sending specific MIDI sys messages to the device, if the app does that, all is fine, if not it won't work. On iOS there are a few examples that support the Launchpad Pro (don't know about the X), ie. LK, Atom 2 and GR-16. The others will just recognize it as a MIDI controller. The custom options should be saved into the LP btw. so if you customize it with a computer, you'll have the same custom options on iOS.

ok the first proper tutorial with the launchpad so i have lots of questions 1. if i use launchpad amplify with my own samples in it and the amplify in aum could i trigger this with the launchpad mk3 then switch to a different synth and trigger that also or would the lauchpad crash 2. im thinking about buying the lauchpad pro mk 3 but i have the old launchpad 2 and use it with amplify with my samples if i use it out of aum it crashes occasionally with aum it crashes all the time would the launchpad pro mk3 solve this crashing issue

I am currently doing my head in i have this setup with the launchpad pro mk34 and launchpad app on ipad, but the launchpad pro mk3 is not working with the app! i have it setup but no joy, any tips to get it working as i had to buy midi sync app as well to do this still not working
@FlorianRachor13 жыл бұрын
You mean the Ampify Launchpad app? That pretty much worked out of the box for me, nothing I had to setup there. Does it get recognized in other apps?

Hello. Which ipad do you use? Thank you.Have you connected launchpad directly to ipad through lightning adapter? 👈👍
@FlorianRachor13 жыл бұрын
Hey, I use an iPad Air 3, and I have a powered USB hub in between (I also have an audio interface, my Cobalt 8 and a Launchkey 25 connected at the same time), but it does work if you plug it directly into the lightning adapter if it is one that has power. The iPad Air 3 is enough to 4-6 tracks with effects in parallel in AUM, that's enough for me.
@bjamminsincebirth34943 жыл бұрын
Did you map the play button to AUM transport bar?
@FlorianRachor13 жыл бұрын
Yes I did, there is a layer of mappings that you can use in AUM.

Hey Florian, kannst du die StepSequenzer - Eingaben auch irgendwie direkt auf dem Launchpad speichern - also für eine Live Performance?
@FlorianRachor13 жыл бұрын

I use an Apple Lightning to USB adapter with additional power. Had bad experiences with 3rd party adapters, here in this video I explain everything: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH-3gYmamNqIeqM

Yea well, it is what it is. I'm trying my best, but I have limited resources that I can put into making video. I tried to optimize the sound since then, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. I'm sure there are other videos on this topic that you can watch.
